Liz Cheney, the nasty, Trump-hating Congresswoman from Wyoming, might not be able to keep her cherished seat on the January 6th Commission much longer. That’s because her Trump-backed primary challenger is not just dominating in the polls, but raising mountains of money with which Cheney can be taken down.
Previously, it was reported that Hageman was dominating polling, beating out Cheney by about 20 points in a survey of voter preferences, a massive polling loss for the current Congresswoman from Wyoming.
Now, according to Fox, Hageman is dominating the fundraising field too, raking in cash with which she can humble Cheney and ensure that Wyoming has a real conservative in Congress rather than a Trump-hater. According to its exclusive report on her fundraising,
Harriet Hageman, the leading Republican candidate challenging Rep. Liz Cheney as Wyoming’s at-large member of the House runs for re-election this year, reports that she’s hauled in over $1 million in fundraising since declaring her candidacy for Congress less than five months ago.
Hageman brought in roughly $745,000 from her campaign launch on Sept. 9 through the end of 2021.
Yet better, Hageman reportedly has hundreds of thousands in cash on hand and was able to raise over $400,000 in the last quarter of 2021 alone. That’s cash she can use to run ads educating Wyoming’s citizens on how Cheney has used her time in office to work against Trump and conservative policy objectives, often using her name and “conservative” credentials to provide covering fire for leftist projects like the January 6th commission.
Trump threw his support behind Hageman in 2021, saying:
“Harriet is a fourth-generation daughter of Wyoming, a very successful attorney, and has the support and respect of a truly great U.S. Senator, Wyoming’s own Cynthia Lummis.
Harriet Hageman adores the Great State of Wyoming, is strong on Crime and Borders, powerfully supports the Second Amendment, loves our Military and our Vets, and will fight for Election Integrity and Energy Independence (which [President Joe] Biden has already given up).
Unlike RINO Liz Cheney, Harriet is all in for America First. Harriet has my Complete and Total Endorsement in replacing the Democrats’ number one provider of sound bites, Liz Cheney. Make America Great Again!”
Hageman’s fundraising success is likely a result not only of the fact that she’s supported by Trump and not Liz Cheney, but also because she’s one of the main people that billionaire Peter Theil has been working to fund in an attempt to take down Trump-hating RINOs in the 2022 midterms.
That Thiel-backed fundraising project aims to unseat those RINOs that voted to impeach Trump and to counter to fundraising efforts of old-guard GOP figures like Karl Rove and George Bush, events those neocons and RINOs are attempting to use to reassert influence over the party.
If Hageman’s success is any indication, then it sure looks like those efforts have been wildly successful in pushing forward candidates that might be lesser known than the RINOs they’re challenging, but are more in line with Trump’s MAGA vision of the party.
Thanks to the support of Trump and Thiel, Hageman is dominating the primary race. She has the public support and the dollars to toss out the Trump-hating RINO, so let’s hope she’s able to stick with the program and do so.
