Kurt Russell Skewers Anti-Gun Reporter

Americans have gotten used to Hollywood actors being anti-2nd Amendment fanatics. Though many of them use guns in their movies and make millions of portraying savage violence, they themselves think the average person shouldn’t be able to own a gun, much less use one for self-defense.

Still, not all Hollywood actors are anti-gun leftists. Some understand the value of and respect the 2nd Amendment.

One is Brad Pitt, who has been a gun owner since he was six, says he doesn’t feel safe unless there’s a gun in his home, and has said that he has a “profound and deep respect for the weapon.

Another is Kurt Russell, who went to town on an anti-gun reporter, Jeffrey Wells, that was interviewing him.

In the interview, Wells says that guns are something that “disenfranchised white guys need” because gun ownership “makes them feel good about themselves.”

Russell vociferously disagreed and fired back, saying “If you think gun control is going to change the terrorists’ point of view, I think you’re, like, out of your mind. I think anybody [who says that] is. I think it’s absolutely insane.

But he didn’t stop there. Rather, he continued his anti-gun control diatribe, saying:

“The problem, the problem that we’re having right now to turn it around…you may think you’ve got me worried about you’re gonna do? Dude, you’re about to find out what I’m gonna do, and that’s gonna worry you a lot more.

And that‘s what we need. That will change the concept of gun culture, as you call it, to something [like] reality. Which is, if I’m a hockey team and I’ve got some guy bearing down on me as a goal tender, I’m not concerned about what he’s gonna do — I’m gonna make him concerned about what I’m gonna do to stop him. That’s when things change.”

He’s right; gun ownership is a great thing because it stops criminals, making them think that maybe, just maybe, their potential victim has a gun and could fight back effectively. With gun control, that goes out the window and villains can prey upon a defenseless population as they see fit.

But Wells wouldn’t let the issue go. Instead, he tried to make his foolish point yet again, saying “Obama’s point was that the guys on the no-fly list, [there] for good reason because of terrorist connections or suspicions…they can get hold of a gun pretty easily.”

Russell wasn’t fazed. He went back on the offense, saying:

They can also make a bomb pretty easily. So what? They can also get knives and stab you. [What are you] gonna do about that? They can also get cars and run you over. [What are you] gonna do about that?

When Wells tried to make the terrorist argument yet again, saying that the San Bernandino terrorists didn’t run people over to kill them but rather used guns, Russell fired back without skipping a beat, saying “But they’ve killed others that way, haven’t they? Yeah, yeah. Whaddaya gonna do? Outlaw everything? That isn’t the answer.
