In all the discussions about which “woman of color” Brandon should choose to fill Breyer’s seat, one of the Democrats’ most famous “women of color,” one who is a renowned lawyer and has proven her loyalty to the far left many times over, has been left out of the discussion.
That “woman of color,” of course, would be Pocahontas: Elizabeth Warren. She’s 1/1076 Native American and got her job at Harvard based on her gender and Native American ancestry, why not add her to the Supreme Court to boost its diversity? If a willingness to use diversity as a cudgel is what matters more than merit, then Lyin’ Liz certainly fits the bill.
I jest. But, while she won’t make it onto SCOTUS, Liz is agitating for some change to come to the court. Specifically, she wants to undo over a century of precedent and start packing it with leftist justices.
Like all those making dignified, important statements, she expressed that viewpoint on Twitter, saying:
Justice Breyer has an extraordinary record of public service. I’m very happy that President Biden will fill this seat by naming the first Black woman to the Supreme Court. And we ought to #ExpandTheCourt to give her at least four more new colleagues & rebalance this institution.

Ah, “at least four more new colleagues.” That’s a convenient number, why did Pocahontas choose it over the much more reasonable-sounding three? Probably because that’s the number that would hand the left power in the court, which right now (assuming Breyer’s seat is filled by some other liberal) is split 6-3.
If “at least four more” are added, all by Brandon, then that would give the Democrats a 7-6 advantage. Quite convenient! Maybe Liz hopes she’ll be included as one of those new justices. She certainly has the lack of respect for the Constitution to be a leftist SCOTUS justice.
In fact, her court-packing idea is so radical that even Breyer and Ginsburg wouldn’t be behind it.
Justice Breyer, for example, said last year that court-packing would completely destroy trust in the judiciary and cause Americans to view it as yet another political institution. In his words:
“It is wrong to think of the Court as another political institution. And it is doubly wrong to think of its members as junior league politicians.
Structural alteration motivated by the perception of political influence can only feed that perception, further eroding that trust.”
Expanding on the problems that would come from expanding the court and making it a politicized institution, he said, in the same speech:
If the public sees judges as ‘politicians in robes,’ its confidence in the courts, and in the rule of law itself, can only diminish, diminishing the court’s power, including its power to act as a ‘check’ on the other branches.”
Similarly, Justice Ginsburg came out against any court-packing plans in 2019, saying:
“Nine seems to be a good number. It’s been that way for a long time. I think it was a bad idea when President Franklin Roosevelt tried to pack the Court.”
So, who will Brandon listen to? Liz Warren and her coterie of power-mad leftists, or Breyer and Ginsburg? Right now that’s unclear, but what is clear is that the answer could determine the direction of America.
