What does Xi Jinping want? Why is he sending warships to encircle Taiwan, fighter jets to test its air defenses, and satellites to potentially grapple with and take out enemy surveillance satellites? Why is China spending huge amounts of money each year to build up its blue water navy, develop 5th generation fighter jets, and develop a stealth bomber? What is the intent behind its world-spanning Belt and Road debt trap?
According to Mike Pompeo, CIA director under Trump, who said during an appearance at the Argus Americas Crude Summit 2022 that the answer is “global domination.” Xi, in the mold of other power-hungry authoritarians of history, wants nothing less than total world domination.
Specifically, according to The Epoch Times, Pompeo said “It’s not about putting a Chinese tank division in Taiwan. It’s about accreting political power and influence throughout the world.”
Pompeo then added that during his time as CIA director, America moved from focusing on terrorist threats to focusing on the threat posed by the CCP and that he predicts there will soon be a “global awakening” in which people finally start to recognize China’s dark and immense ambitions.
Speaking on the topic of trade with China, Pompeo said that the trade war, from China’s perspective, began in 1972 when the US opened relations with China. Since then, it’s been working tirelessly to build up its economy at the expense of ours, something our government has only recently started recognizing and dealing with. In Pompeo’s words:
“We encouraged business together. I don’t fault the businesses who went there. Notice the past tense of this. America’s policy encouraged connectivity with the Chinese Communist Party. Today, that is an enormous liability for the world, and Xi Jinping knows that.”
On the topic of trade, at least, Pompeo might be right about an awakening. Americans can see that China’s economic success came at the price of the American working class, something Trump highlighted, and are furious about it, as has been expressed frequently on Twitter:

However, even if the average American or average Westerner wakes up to the threat posed by China, it’s unlikely that their rulers, the globalist elite, will do much to contain the threat.
Why? Because, as exposed in Peter Schweizer’s newest book, Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win, even the President of the United States, Joe Biden, has been compromised by Red China, and numerous other elites, such as Dianne Feinstein, have profited off of China’s rise.
Though the average American worker might have suffered mightily thanks to Red China’s rise, the elites profited off of it and are unlikely to want to give up their massive financial gains.
Still, there are some glimmers of hope that the world is starting to take China’s rise more seriously. The US Navy, for example, has been spending time in the Pacific training alongside Japanese, Australian, and Indian vessels. The head of the German Navy, though he was forced to retire after doing so, gave a speech in which he vociferously pushed the idea that China is the real enemy. Resistance is growing to the Belt and Road.
So, even if the Democrat and corporatist elites are resisting any attempt to fight back against Red China, some nations and people are doing what they can to push back.
