Special Counsel John Durham dropped a major bombshell when he filed a court document claiming that a Clinton Campaign lawyer worked with a tech executive to bug Trump Tower and the Executive Office of the President, among other locations.
According to the shocking filling, those bugs collected internet data, which then was framed in a dishonest way and sent to the FBI, used to frame Trump as being a Russian agent.
Those allegations were, of course, entirely made up. The data collected didn’t show Trump to have Russian handlers or contacts or whatever else they claimed, it was just framed as such by the Clinton-affiliated agents.
Trump, responding to that court filing, ripped the Clinton operatives to shreds, saying in two emails:
“The latest pleading from Special Counsel Robert Durham provides indisputable evidence that my campaign and presidency were spied on by operatives paid by the Hillary Clinton Campaign in an effort to develop a completely fabricated connection to Russia. This is a scandal far greater in scope and magnitude than Watergate and those who were involved in and knew about this spying operation should be subject to criminal prosecution. In a stronger period of time in our country, this crime would have been punishable by death. In addition, reparations should be paid to those in our country who have been damaged by this.”
“What Hillary Clinton and the Radical Left Democrats did with respect to spying on a President of the United States, even while in office, is a far bigger crime than Watergate. It will be interesting to see how it was covered by the media and what Mitch McConnell and the RINOs will be doing about it. This is an insult to the Republican Party, but a far greater insult to our Nation. Covered very powerfully this morning by Fox and Friends and, of course, Maria Bartiromo.”
Well, Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan said that Trump was right in his harsh words for the Clinton campaign operatives that smeared. Watch him here:
He, appearing on Fox and Friends to discuss the revelations that Durham released and Trump’s harsh statements on the matter said that, in his view, President Trump nailed it in his statements on the matter.
Speaking on that, he said, “there was spying going on and it was worse than we thought ’cause they were spying on the sitting president of the United States and it goes to the Clinton campaign.”
Continuing his defense of Trump’s statement, Rep. Jordan said “We’ve never seen anything like this in history. So President Trump’s statement yesterday, I think is right on target. This is truly unprecedented, truly something that has never happened in the history of our great country.”
Jordan is right. This is worse than Watergate; not only was Team Clinton using government resources to spy on a political opponent, but it then used a federal law enforcement agency to attack that opponent based on false information. That’s far, far beyond the pale.
