As our enemies come more and more to view us as weak thanks to Brandon’s feebleness and utter incompetence, he decided not to reverse that by growing a backbone and acting like a strong president, but to push that perception forward by relieving Iran of its sanctions burden for no commensurate gain.
Yes, he’s really doing that. At a time when sanctions are hammering Iran into the ground and keeping it weak, making it one of the states we need to worry less about thanks to its lack of resources as other enemy states act up around the globe, Brandon the genius has decided to give Iran a financial hand.
Apparently, he views the talks between Iran and America as entering the final phase and thus wants to encourage them to complete a new version of the nuclear deal. According to Reuters:
The State Department has sent a report signed by Secretary of State Antony Blinken to Congress explaining that restoring the waivers will help the talks in Vienna on returning to the deal reached between Iran and a group of countries including China, France, Germany, Russia, Britain and the United States. The agreement is formally called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Reuters added that a copy of the message it saw said “The waiver with respect to these activities is designed to facilitate discussions that would help to close a deal on a mutual return to full implementation of the JCPOA and lay the groundwork for Iran’s return to performance of its JCPOA commitments.”
So, he restored sanctions waivers that allow Iran, the terrorist nation that regularly calls for the death of Americans and the destruction of Israel, to participate in international nuclear projects. What could go wrong?
The sanction waivers were originally part of Obama’s 2015 Iran deal, a deal which many alleged gave Iran all it wanted while giving next to nothing to the US or Israel. They were canceled by Trump when he pulled out of the nuclear agreement and started to grind Iran down by placing a crushing sanctions burden on it, a “maximum pressure” strategy that was grinding the Iranians into the dirt and keeping them down.
But Brandon doesn’t want to grind Iran down or take it on in a strong way that will make America better off for the long term. He’d rather strike a deal that keeps Iran quiet for a bit, allowing him to say he struck a deal, even if such a deal wouldn’t actually be helpful to America or its allies in the long term.
As a result, he’s lifting sanctions on Iran and letting that state sponsor of terror, that fanatically religious nation that killed many, many Americans in Iraq, to participate in nuclear projects around the globe so that they might sign some deal that lifts the pressure off them while giving us little more than a piece of paper like the one Chamberlain brought back from Munich.
