Megyn Kelly was marvelously unmerciful to hate crime hoaxer Jussie Smollett and his whining family during a recent segment of her show, ripping into the recently sentenced actor after he and his family members claimed that he was experiencing personal difficulties and so should be shown mercy.
His sister, Jurnee Smollett, for example, said that Cook County should free Jussie despite his recent sentencing and the heinous crime he committed because of the difference in incarceration rates between blacks and whites. making that case, Jurnee Smollett said:
“Black Americans are incarcerated in state prisons at nearly five times the rate of White Americans. Jussie is innocent. And you don’t have to believe in his innocence to believe he should be free.”
Similarly, Smollett’s brother, Jocqui Smollett, said:
“So Jussie is currently in a psych ward at the Cook County Jail. What’s very concerning is that there was a note attached to his paperwork today and put in front of his jail cell saying that he’s at risk of self-harm.
“I want to make it clear to folks that he is in no way, shape, or form at risk of self-harm. He wants to let folks know that he is very stable, he is very strong, he is very healthy and ready to take on the challenge that has been put up against him.”
“This is not right. This is a complete lack of justice. It’s angering. It’s an outrage, but he ultimately knows what he needs to do.
“So please, make sure you all spreading facts. We really need our people to support us.”
His other brother, Jojo Smollett, also pled for Smollett to be shown mercy, saying:
“He doesn’t know the struggles my brother is encountering. He doesn’t know anything that he’s dealing with.”
Well, Kelly, not buying it one bit, said:
“We don’t care! I couldn’t care less what struggles he’s encountering. You’re going to prison because you did lie. You broke the law.
You actually involved a lot of the Chicago P.D. time, took up a lot of their time when they could have been solving murders and real crimes out in the streets of Chicago. I don’t feel sorry for him at all.”
Indeed. Jussie more or less tried to start a race war by pretending that evil, while, Trump voters viciously attacked him. Luckily for America he failed, as his story was utterly ridiculous, but the narrative he was pushing could easily have led to something bad happening, some tension escalating or hair-trigger going off.
So, no, Smollett doesn’t deserve mercy, doesn’t deserve to be let out of jail even earlier than he otherwise would be. He needs to be held accountable for the crime he committed, held accountable for the race war he intended to start and for the time he wasted, time the Chicago PD could have better spent on solving real crimes.
Megyn Kelly is right, Smollett family, “we don’t care!”
