Team Biden recently announced that it intends on getting rid of Title 42, a Trump-era immigration authority that, for reasons of public health, made it far easier to quickly deport illegal immigrants.
Well, many are unhappy with that course of action, seeing it as yet another attempt by Team Biden to keep the border open to the waves of illegal immigrants headed here, a refusal to deal with the problem and defend America’s borders.
One such person is Rep. Kat Cammack of Florida, who appeared on a Friday broadcast of Fox Business Network’s “Kudlow.” She, during that broadcast, pointed out how hypocritical and ridiculous it is for the left to simultaneously end Title 42, claiming it’s no longer necessary, while also continuing Covid-era policies like allowing proxy voting in the House of Representatives.
Speaking on that, Rep. Cammack first blasted the current continuance of Covid policies that Nancy Pelosi has pushed, saying:
“This is absolutely nuts. The double standard in Washington, it just never ceases to amaze me. You know, Nancy Pelosi, just a few weeks ago, put out a statement saying that we needed to extend proxy voting in Congress because of the health emergency, that members weren’t able to cast their ballots and their votes in person.
“So, you’ve got people casting votes via proxy while they’re sitting on a beach somewhere because they just can’t make it to Washington to do their job. But yet, they still collect a paycheck. And let’s not forget that they just extended the mask mandate.”
She then turned to her main point, which was emphasizing the hypocrisy of continuing those policies while getting rid of Title 42 and claiming that the public health reasoning behind it is no longer necessary, saying:
“So, there’s a health emergency everywhere, except for our southwest border, where there actually is a legitimate cause for it with increased rates of tuberculosis and every other ailment you can think of that our Border Patrol agents are encountering. It’s disgusting. It’s hypocrisy at its finest, and it’s got to stop.”
Rep. Cammack has a point: why, if the public health reasoning behind Title 42 no longer holds, does it still hold for everything else? Why can congressional representatives still vote by proxy, why are masks still required, why are all the other aspects of the Covid regime still in effect or going back into effect, but we don’t still need those same rules for illegal immigrants rushing across the border?
Those questions need to be answered, though they certainly won’t be in any satisfactory way by the Biden Administration or the other leftists in power. Thinking otherwise would be a delusion, but hopefully FNC’s White House correspondent, Peter Doocy, will pick up where Cammack left off and start questioning Psaki about the reasoning behind getting rid of Title 42 while simultaneously keeping other Covid policies in effect.
