Recently, it was announced that Tucker would be speaking at “The FAMiLY Leader” 2022 leadership summit, with the organization announcing that on Twitter, saying:

The FAMiLY Leader’s website describes its mission as being to “Strengthen families, by inspiring Christ-like leadership in the home, the church, and the government” and adds that it “wants to see a revived America that honors God and blesses people.”
More importantly, in the near term, however, is that its leadership summit is also known as a spot where those figures in the GOP with presidential ambitions speak in an attempt to gauge support before the primary season begins. As Mediaite put it:
The annual FAMiLY Leader is a socially conservative Chrisitan political organization, whose annual gathering has become a regular stomping ground for potential GOP presidential candidates. In 2021, the FAMiLY Leadership Summit was addressed by potential 2024 presidential candidates like former VP Mike Pence, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD).
Noem, Pence, and Pompeo likely don’t have a chance. But Tucker might, particularly if Trump decides not to run. He’s proven his conservative credentials, is more inspiring and on the nose than DeSantis, and has the sort of media and DC connections one would need to fight whatever leftist narrative about him is promulgated and to run a successful administration.
Further, as a media figure, he’s already well known and well-liked and almost certainly has a grasp on what issues play best with voters.
And it wasn’t just Mediaite that noticed the significance of Tucker speaking at that particular conference.
CBS correspondent Robert Costa did too and pointed out the potential implications of that in a tweet response to the original announcement that Tucker would be speaking at the event, saying:
Tucker Carlson heading to Iowa, home of the presidential caucuses, this summer. This particular group’s gathering has long been an event attended by Republicans with presidential ambitions.

However, some were less certain of what the announcement meant and if Tucker’s decision to speak there actually means that he might have presidential aspirations.
David Freedlander, for example, a Politico journalist, was on the opposite side of the debate, saying:
Before everyone gets too excited, just take a breath: no way someone gives up a lucrative TV bid to run for president, especially considering that they would have their finances and personal life examined in way they haven’t been before. Guy’s never been elected to anything!

Still, it’s possible that Tucker is at least curious about the idea of a run, particularly given his popularity and the general disaster that is whatever Slow Joe and his team are doing.
If there’s ever a time a very conservative president could be elected it’s now, thanks to Slow Joe, so perhaps Tucker smells an opportunity created by uncertainty about Trump, hesitation over DeSantis, and a general lack of interest in any of the other choices. Time will tell, but a Carlson 2024 ticket would be legendary.
