Last night, news leaked about the Supreme Court’s upcoming decision on the Dobbs case, a case that could overturn Roe and pave the way for red states to get rid of abortion. According to the draft of Justice Alito’s opinion, the court is poised to stop viewing abortion as a fundamental right, which would make it far, far easier for states to regulate and restrict it.
Well, Democrats are predictably furious, losing it over the idea that babies can no longer be murdered for the sake of convenience.
Leading the charge was leftist Senator Bernie Sanders, the socialist that’s failed multiple times in his attempts to secure the Democrat presidential nomination. He, on Twitter, went ballistic and called not only for Congress to attack states’ rights by imposing abortion legislation on the whole country, but also for decades of precedent to be done away with by nuking the filibuster.
Congress must pass legislation that codifies Roe v. Wade as the law of the land in this country NOW. And if there aren’t 60 votes in the Senate to do it, and there are not, we must end the filibuster to pass it with 50 votes.

Following in the footsteps of her fellow socialist mentor was AOC, who also vented her frustration on Twitter, saying:
As we’ve warned, SCOTUS isn’t just coming for abortion – they’re coming for the right to privacy Roe rests on, which includes gay marriage + civil rights.
Manchin is blocking Congress codifying Roe. House has seemingly forgotten about Clarence Thomas. These 2 points must change

And, as you can see, that was in response to a tweet claiming that Alito is leaving the door open to go after gays, with that leftist saying:
Alito’s draft opinion explicitly criticizes Lawrence v. Texas (legalizing sodomy) and Obergefell v. Hodges (legalizing same-sex marriage). He says that, like abortion, these decisions protect phony rights that are not “deeply rooted in history.”
That motley collection of leftists freaking out at the idea that some people respect the Constitution and the actual rights within it rather than phantom rights created by the various “penumbras” and such found by activist judges.
Others continued to meltdown, with Senator Tammy Baldwin joining her fellow legislators in panicking and demanding leftist legislative action to keep abortion permissible.
If #SCOTUS is going to legislate from the bench and turn back the clock 50 years on #RoeVWade, then the Senate needs to pass my Women’s Health Protection Act, and if we need to eliminate the filibuster to get it done, we should do that too. #WHPA

Rep. Ilhan Omar joined in too, even going so far as to call for an expansion of the court. She said:
Overturning Roe would put the lives of women across the country at risk. It would fly in the face of decades of precedent and the overwhelming majority of public opinion. And they will not stop here.
Expand the court.

The much more reasonable Senator Manchin, for his part, has so far refrained from commenting on the matter, much less calling for a radical restructuring of how America legislates abortion or how the Supreme Court functions.
