Watch: Even CNN Gets Embarrassed about How Little Dem Congresswoman Knows about How SCOTUS Works

How foolish and ignorant is Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal? She’s so far down the path of lacking any brain wrinkles that even CNN, when interviewing her, got uncomfortable with how little she knew about the Supreme Court and how it functioned despite being the one ranting about that.

If you have the stomach, watch that here (be warned, however: it’s very cringey):

And she’s just one of a few hundred people with an immense amount of control over your life and what policies affect you. Hip, hip, hooray for democracy!

As you can hear in the video, Rep. Jayapal, speaking to CNN “Newsroom” host Victor Blackwell about the court and Alito’s abortion opinion, said:

This is a stunning, stunning rebuke of precedent and of the fundamental freedom that women have to make choices about our own bodies and our own futures and our own economic security.

“And the thing is, Victor, that these justices are acting like this is somehow something that they have the right to change.

They do not have the right to change this, which has been settled law for two generations now of people who have grown up, who have gone through their twenties in the firm belief that they can make these decisions about their own bodies.”.

Hate to break it to you Pramila, but they do have the right to do that. Read Marbury v. Madison; things of this sort are pretty much expressly the right of the court, as it has the right to determine with finality what’s Constitutional and what’s not.

The New York Post notes that the Supreme Court, in fact, doesn’t just have the right to change a ruling if it sees the need to, but actually has the duty to do so, as it’s only through reversing an earlier ruling that it can establish what’s actually constitutional.

Reporting on that aspect of the whole fiasco, the NYP noted:

Yes, they’re supposed to respect precedent, but when they believe precedents are “egregiously” wrong (as Justice Samuel Alito notes in his draft opinion overturning Roe), they have a duty to overturn them. Does Rep. Pramila Jayapal (Wash.-D) think the court had no right to overturn Plessy v. Ferguson, which blessed the “separate but equal” doctrine?

As a member of Congress, Pramila should know that. But, of course, she doesn’t. I suspect that if we did some digging we’d find that there are quite a few more things that she doesn’t know.

Regardless, the host, Victor Blackwell, obviously could tell she had no idea what she was talking about, as he seemed embarrassed for her during the almost unbelievably dumb rant she went on.

So, to be clear, don’t listen to the Congresswoman: she has no idea what she’s talking about. Thanks to the doctrine of judicial review and its place as the highest court in the land, it very much has the right to review past decisions and, if they’re wrong, reverse them.
