Is Biden the biggest problem Americans face right now? Are his cronies, people like cackling Kamala and Mayor Pete, the real enemies of the nation that we need to worry about? Or is it some other person or group of problematic personalities that’s the big problem right now?
While all three are indubitably problematic, according to former football player and current Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker, the GOP pick to battle far-left Senator Warnock, it’s celebrities.
That comment came when Walker spoke with Ben Carson during a conversation for the American Cornerstone Institute. Carson, the former HUD Secretary and one time GOP presidential hopeful, asked Walker “what do you see as some of the biggest problems going on in our country today?”
Walker, in response, tore into celebrities and what they represent, saying:
I think some of the biggest problems going on in our country today, we have so many celebrities telling people that they can’t do it. Telling a lot of people, ‘oh, well, you got to feel bad for yourself, feel sorry for yourself’ Which is sad to me…They’ve done it, but they’re telling you you can’t do it. And it’s like, you did it, why they can’t do it? I think they tell all the kids they can’t do it, making our kids feel sorry for themselves.
Walker hasn’t just been attacking celebrities recently. He also pushed back on the claim that America needs gun control, saying:
“Cain killed Abel and that’s a problem that we have. What we need to do is look into how we can stop those things. You know, you talked about doing a disinformation — what about getting a department that can look at young men that’s looking at women that’s looking at their social media. What about doing that? Looking into things like that and we can stop that that way.
“But yet they want to just continue to talk about taking away your constitutional rights. And I think there’s more things we need to look into. This has been happening for years and the way we stop it is putting money into the mental health field, by putting money into other departments rather than departments that want to take away your rights.”
Walker, though widely seen as a MAGA candidate, is currently in a minor spat with Trump, who claimed that he’s the one who convinced Walker to run to fight Warnock.
Walker disputed that and is, according to the Hill, mad about it. Speaking on the issue, he said:
“One thing that people don’t know is President Trump never asked me. I need to tell him that he never asked.
“I heard it all on television that ‘he’s going to ask Herschel,’ saying Hershel is going to run. President Trump never came out and said ‘Herschel, will you run for that Senate seat?’ So, I’m mad at him, because he never asked, but he’s taking credit that he asked.
Regardless of that squabble, the two can likely be expected to make up before the election, as Trump would like to see MAGA candidates win and Walker likely needs Trump’s support to win come November.
