Last week should have been a stunning victory for gun rights, as the Supreme Court slapped down New York’s handgun law and ensured that those law-abiding Americans who wish to carry a firearm have the right to do so.
That should have been the major victory we’ve looking for, a win that would move the ball forward on ensuring the right to bear arms is completely and fully respected in America.
But, of course, thanks to useless and insouciant RINOs in the Senate, it wasn’t. Instead, thanks to those idiots, 14 of whom signed your rights away for no good reason or even anything in return from the left, last week was a mixed week for gun rights. On one hand, we won a big victory in the court. On the other, Cornyn, Lindsey Graham the homo, and other RINOs signed away your rights to the glee of the Democrats.
And so Trump sounded off on those RINOs in a scorcher of a statement on his social media app, Truth Social, saying:
“The deal on ‘Gun Control’ currently being structured and pushed in the Senate by the Radical Left Democrats, with the help of Mitch McConnell, RINO Senator John Cornyn of Texas, and others, will go down in history as the first step in the movement to TAKE YOUR GUNS AWAY. Republicans, be careful what you wish for!!!”
And though Cornyn has drawn the most heat as the Republican behind the bill, cocaine Mitch deserves a heavy share of blame too.
He’s not only the one who let Cornyn go over to the dark side in the first place, but also he published a statement in support of the bill, saying:
“I support the bill text that Senator Cornyn and our colleagues have produced. For years, the far left falsely claimed that Congress could only address the terrible issue of mass murders by trampling on law-abiding Americans’ constitutional rights. This bill proves that false. Our colleagues have put together a commonsense package of popular steps that will help make these horrifying incidents less likely while fully upholding the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.”
No Mitch, it doesn’t. That’s exactly what your red flag bill does; in fact, that portion of the bill not only violates the 2nd Amendment, which clearly states “shall not be infringed”, but also the 4th Amendment.
That amendment, as a reminder, provides (in part) “the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated“.
Taking someone’s legally obtained guns away under a red flag law, particularly if they haven’t committed a crime obviously violates that amendment.
So not only is Mitch going along with the signing away of your 2nd Amendment rights, but he’s also more than willing, apparently, to resign your property rights to the same dustbin of history.
2022 and 2024 can’t just be a war on Democrats. They must also be elections in which we purge the RINOs.
