How’s Elon doing right now? Great. After moving to Texas, he went native and started voting Republican, as all real Texans do, announcing on Twitter that he had just cast his first vote for the GOP ever.
Posting about that on Twitter, Elon said:
I voted for Mayra Flores – first time I ever voted Republican. Massive red wave in 2022.
That tweet of his came in response to one about the candidate he said he voted for, Mayra Flores, who just ousted a Democrat for the first time in four decades:
Republican@MayraFlores2022 has won the special election for Texas’s 34th Congressional District, flipping a seat that has been under nearly unbroken Democratic control for four decades.
I voted for Mayra Flores – first time I ever voted Republican.

What’s better, Marya, the now Congresswoman that Elon voted for, is no Romney-like slouch. On her homepage she proudly champions the America First movement, saying:
Voters in District 34 are realizing we no longer have to beg for scraps from Nancy Pelosi. The incumbent recently retired making this an OPEN seat that we WILL take back! We are hungry for opportunity and have seen the Rio Grande Valley lean more and more conservative. America First policies resonate with the Hispanic community and others who live in this district. For over 100 years, the Democrat Party has taken for granted the loyalty and support South Texas has given them for decades. They do nothing to earn our vote or our support. And meanwhile, President Biden has signed a record number of Executive Orders to kill Texas jobs, weaken border security, and remove protection for the unborn. Enough is enough.
I am ready to fight for South Texans. I am ready to serve and I ask for your vote in the 2022 Special Election on June 14!
Perhaps she’s not as right wing as some others in the GOP, such as Josh Hawley or Blake Masters, but she doesn’t appear to be a RINO either, rather seeming like a young representative of MAGA.
For example, on her “issues” page, she describes herself first as “Pro-God,” a good sign that she’s no lib or RINO, and then “Pro-Life”, “Pro-Family”, and “Pro-America”, along with other, typical GOP platform planks like being pro-2nd Amendment.
So, all that’s to say, Elon voted for a real conservative, not some Romney-like “moderate”. Wonderful!
Elon then went on to cheer DeSantis for the 2024 race, saying when asked by one account who he was leaning toward for 2024 that DeSantis was currently his guy:
He did, however, add that he was thinking about creating a PAC meant to boost “moderates”, saying “I’m thinking of creating a “Super Moderate Super PAC” that supports candidates with centrist views from all parties”.
He then added that he thinks DeSantis has a better chance of winning than his last pick, Yang, saying “I supported Yang last time, but DeSantis has a better chance of winning“.
Maybe Elon should think about joining a Trump or DeSantis ticket. That’d be awesome.
