Following the persecution and prosecution of former Trump aide and committed conservative Steve Bannon, who was dragged before a court for “contempt of Congress” over confusion regarding executive privilege and the committee, former Democrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard spoke out, breaking from her former party in slamming the politicized DOJ for its persecution of a political enemy of the Biden regime.
She did so in a tweet that included her summation of what has so far happened and a video in which she tore into the DOJ with a vengeance, blasting it for how politicized it has gotten. Watch that here:

Gabbard focused particularly, as you can hear in the video, on the contrast between how Steve Bannon has been treated with how others who, unlike Bannon, blatantly lied to Congress and engaged in obviously illegal, dangerous activity have been treated.
Speaking on that, Tulsi noted, “No matter what you think or feel about Steve Bannon the fact that he has been found guilty of contempt of Congress, yet others have faced no consequences at all.”
And who are those “others?” Tulsi mainly focused on two: John Brennan and James Clapper, both of whom she noted, lied to Congress yet “kept their jobs and to this day still have faced no consequences at all.” Funny how that works.
Speaking about Clapper, Tulsi claimed that he “lied directly about an NSA program that was conducting mass collection on millions of Americans.” Yet he was never held accountable in the slightest, much less dragged in front of a kangaroo court.
Ditto that for John Brennan, the Trump-hating CIA head. Speaking about him, Tulsi said, “he spied on Senate staffers, lied about it, and also broke into Senate computers to read emails from whistleblowers to members of Congress.” But, once again, no consequences for Brennan.
Summing up her argument about the politicization and weaponization of the DOJ, along with the double standard with which it handles leftist lawbreakers and conservatives, Tulsi said, in the video:
“Now this is just the latest example, unfortunately of how our Department of Justice has become a political weapon being used by those in power to go after their political enemies.”
She went even farther in a later tweet about the DOJ, saying:
Whatever you think of Bannon, the fact he was charged with contempt of Congress, but Clapper, Brennan & others who lied to Congress have never been charged, shows how the Biden admin / elite have shamelessly weaponized law enforcement into a political hit squad.
And that political hit squad has been firmly mobilized against strong, unrepentant conservatives of the Bannon mold, as shown by the continual attacks on anyone who worked to support President Trump.
