“It Was Known”: Chris Cuomo Drops Bombshell about His Using CNN to Help His Brother

Chris Cuomo is one of the two Cuomo brothers, both of whom ended up having to leave their positions in disgrace following revelations about their conduct.

Whereas his brother Andrew Cuomo was hit on sexual misconduct grounds and had to leave the governor’s office in disgrace, Chris was caught using his position at CNN to boost Andrew and help him avoid those sexual misconduct allegations.

However, while Chris Cuomo was fired from his prime time host position at CNN following knowledge of his helping his brother in that manner becoming public knowledge, he’s now claiming that CNN brass knew what he was up to all along.

Commenting about that when he appeared on NewsNation to speak with host Dan Abrams on his show Dan Abrams Live, Cuomo announced that not only would he be soon starting to work with NewsNation, but that CNN knew what he was up to when he was helping his brother.

That revelation came after Abrams asked him about it, saying:

“You start advising, talking to him being involved with the meetings, et cetera, what did you tell CNN about your involvement in those conversations? Did you say to them right at the outset, ‘Hey, guys, I just want you to know, I’m going to be talking my brother a lot through this process?”

Responding Cuomo alleged that CNN knew about it and also brought up that he’s suing over his termination, saying:

“It was known. Now, as you said, there’s litigation, I want to respect it, but the reason I’m shy on this subject is not just pro forma because there’s litigation. I really believe that I have to focus on things that I think are helpful to people.

“And I learned something during this period. I have been obsessed with what happened when, what was known, and there are a lot of facts that I believe I’m going to come out.

“I’ve also learned that they are largely only important to me, Dan, in terms of what I want people to think and how I want people to feel and how I want them to see me. That’s about me. I don’t think that it’s helpful to a lot of other people. So, yes, there’s litigation going on, but I’m telling you I never lied and there were no secrets.”

Whether or not CNN knew what he was doing is important because, at the time of his firing, the network released a statement on the issue saying that he was being fired after they found out what he was up to, saying:

“Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light about his involvement with his brother’s defense. We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately.”

So if CNN lied about why he was being fired and really had no cause to terminate him, he might have a better case in his lawsuit.
