Mark Wahlberg, Chris Pratt, and Mel Gibson: what unites those three very different Hollywood stars typically cast in very different roles or involved in different films?
Well, Wahlberg and Gibson have done a few films together recently, and all three actors are frequently smeared and attacked by a leftist media that hates them for not being woke.
But, beyond being opposed to the “current thing” and collaborating on a few movies, there’s something bigger that unites all three: their faith in Christ, as all three are strong Christians who have been quite open about their faith.
Chris Pratt, for instance, defended his faith in 2018 when speaking at the MTV Music and TV awards, saying:
“God is real. God loves, you, God wants the best for you. Believe that. I do.”
“Nobody is perfect. People are going to tell you you’re perfect just the way you are — you’re not. You’re imperfect,.
“You always will be. But, there is a powerful force that designed you that way. And if you’re willing to accept that, you will have grace. And grace is a gift. And like the freedom that we enjoy in this country, that grace was paid for with somebody else’s blood. Don’t forget it. Don’t take it for granted.”
He has, however, recently described himself as “not a religious person”.
Mark Wahlberg has also spoken up about Christianity and his faith, saying:
“Having gratitude as a whole is really important, but I think everybody’s having lots of difficulties. It’s in all those difficulties, when I focused on my faith, I was able to endure, and good things started to happen. Everything seemed to make sense.
“It certainly made it easier and gave me a lot of comfort. And people have been going through a lot. And I think the thing that people are all experiencing is that they’re reminded, you know, that they need to have faith and hope and that love will endure.”
He also said:
“People need to have faith and hope. I just knew that I needed to make this movie, and this was my calling and this was my mission. And, now, it’s needed more than ever.
“Hopefully, it will do some really important work and help a lot of people. It’s certainly a turning point for me in my life… I need to stop focusing so much on Mark and start doing much more work for God and for less fortunate people.”
Mel Gibson, though not known for his powerful speeches on faith, is known for being a strong Catholic whose faith is imbued into his films, most particularly The Passion of the Christ.
Perhaps explaining why actors like Pratt, Wahlberg, and Gibson that often appear in or make non-woke films are so open about their faith, Dan Wakeford, an entertainment expert, told Fox News Digital that Hollywood stars connect with America through their discussions of faith, saying:
“When stars talk about faith in America it often helps connect them to a wider audience. Connectivity is about relatability, and if a celebrity has the same belief system as you, it makes you feel like you know them better and they are like you, have the same values and they understand you. This can help open up millions of new fans and increase your visibility and therefore your success.”
So, perhaps they want to appeal to the same Christian, non-woke audience that already identifies with thim.
On the other hand, it seems likely that they, particularly Wahlberg and Gibson, just believe it and want others to believe it too.
