The FBI supposedly (according to the fake news Washington Post) raided Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence and seized boxes of documents because they were “nuclear documents,” whatever that means. Most likely, they pertained to his discussions with Kim Jong Un or regarded Iran and the left, in an attempt to make him look bad, is using “nuclear” for everything it’s worth.
But, doing its best to make Trump look bad, the Washington Post reported that “Classified documents relating to nuclear weapons were among the items FBI agents sought in a search of former president Donald Trump’s Florida residence on Monday, according to people familiar with the investigation.”
The same article, in yet another barb sent Trump’s way, said “Experts in classified information said the unusual search underscores deep concern among government officials about the types of information they thought could be located at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club and potentially in danger of falling into the wrong hands.”
Well, President Trump’s lawyer pushed back against that narrative when appearing on Fox News Channel’s Ingraham Angle for a discussion about the documents and what her opinion on the supposed “nuclear documents” is, saying:
“I have not specifically spoken to the president about what nuclear materials may or may not have been in there I don’t believe there were any in they are.”
She also noted that Trump and his team have done all they can to work with the DOJ in the past and act in good faith, something that makes the banana republic-like raid all the more shocking and absurd. In her words:
“They did a thorough search and we’ve been very cooperative with the Biden Administration and the DoJ and turned over everything we found that we had. It’s my understanding and very good belief based on a thorough investigation that there was nothing there.”
The same lawyer did add, however, that they have an inventory list of everything the FBI took during its raid.
Trump, for his part, reacted even more strongly to the “nuclear documents” allegation, tearing into it on Truth Social and saying:
“Nuclear weapons issue is a Hoax, just like Russia, Russia, Russia was a Hoax, two Impeachments were a Hoax, the Mueller investigation was a Hoax, and much more. Same sleazy people involved. Why wouldn’t the FBI allow the inspection of areas at Mar-a-Lago with our lawyer’s, or others, present. Made them wait outside in the heat, wouldn’t let them get even close – said “ABSOLUTELY NOT.” Planting information anyone? Reminds me of a Christopher Steele Dossier!”
Trump’s opinion is that of many other conservatives, people tired of seeing the FBI and DOJ use their power to attack Trump while letting people like Hillary Clinton and Hunter Biden get away with crime after crime after crime.
We’ll see where this goes, but what’s perfectly clear is that Trump and his legal team don’t look ready to back down or bow down to the FBI.
