It’s another day that ends in “y” and so the Democrats are continuing to go berserk over absolutely nothing, freaking out and clutching their pearls because the bad orange man did bad orange things and his supporters refuse to scourge themselves before the altar of anti-racism.
Such was, of course, what looney lib Andrea Waters King did when she spoke to inveterate race-baiter Al Sharpton on MSNBC, declaring that “democracy is on her knees” because…well she didn’t really give a “because.” She just declared it and demanded the rest of the country go along with her program as a result. In her words:
“But I think it’s fair to say that our nation is on her knees. Democracy is on her knees. Everything that Martin Luther King Junior and Coretta Scott King and so many others thought and literally died for is being challenged. The gains that were made.
“So we can’t think of any better time to call the nation together, the draw major institute, along with the national action network, for the 60th anniversary. It’s time for us to stop talking about the dream.
“It’s time for us to stop talking and using Martin Luther King junior as an idol, and it’s time for all of us to live up to those ideals. With that in mind, we’re all coming together. Well — we’ll be in Washington. We’re all for the 60th anniversary next year, looking forward to having the opportunity in this nation to realize the dream.”
Watch that hand-wringing, pearl-clutching statement here.
Unfortunately, King wasn’t the only leftist loon to appear on Sharpton’s ridiculous program and start ranting about some phantom menace of a problem that only someone thoroughly detached from reality could be bothered to appear on TV to talk about.
Shontel Brown, a member of Congress from Ohio, did the exact same thing, also on Sharpton’s show.
Appearing on it, Congresswoman Brown decided that now is the best time to start ranting and raving about the “hypocrisy” of Republicans, saying:
“Sadly, I’m not. But first and foremost, thanks for having me, reverend al, it’s always a pleasure to be on your show. I have to take the words of Hakim Jeffries. The shamelessness is their superpower. The hypocrisy of the Republican Party is boundless.
“It’s not surprising to me that they continue to defend this man whose campaign started out as a big lie. Who’s election into office continued on as a big lie. He debated the number of people that were in attendance for his inauguration. It’s a repetitive cycle.
“Sadly, it’s very disappointing that the folks on the other side of the aisle don’t have the courage to be able to stand up to this man. I don’t know what it is going to take. But I am proud to say as a member of the oversight committee were going to do everything that we can to get to the bottom of this, Reverend Al.”
Ah, so democracy is under attack and we’re all terrible people because we support the mean orange man more than whatever “our democracy” supposedly stands for. Thanks, Shontel. Very cool!
