Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had a very good moment recently, taking to stage during the Turning Point Action Summit to declare war on wokeness and utterly thrash the left, making his opposition to the “current thing” and those hawking it quite clear.
Perhaps the best moment of the speech was when Governor DeSantis, discussing how woke ideology ravages society, particularly schools, said that wokeness needs to be fought back against before it’s too late.
Speaking on that, Governor DeSantis said:
“You see it in education, you see it on different things. It’s a very oppressive ideology, totally divorced from reality. And I think in Florida — and I need this to be in Pennsylvania around the country, we can’t just stand idly by while woke ideology ravages every institution in our society. We must fight the woke in our schools.”
Indeed we do. Thank goodness there are a few on the right, particularly Trump and DeSantis, that say so rather than pretending like teachers are our allies rather than our enemies.
Watch that moment where DeSantis declared war on wokeness here:

The “full Churchill” comment of Benny’s is probably a reference to the speech that Churchill gave in the darkest days of World War II for Britain, after France had fallen and Nazi invasion seemed imminent. Rallying Parliament and the British people around him, Churchill said:
“Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Gestapo and all the odious apparatus of Nazi rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.”
But DeSantis didn’t just have a “we shall fight them” moment, though it was probably his best. He also attacked those leftist hellholes that are still masking up students, saying:
“And I must say, I see now Philadelphia is forcing masks on students. And they said that — they were telling me that Pittsburgh may do that too. There is no justification for muzzling students for eight hours a day. It is wrong and it has no place in this state or any state in these United States.”
Oh, and he walloped the new Democrat tax and spend bill and the Fauci Covid lockdowns by noting that Florida had a tremendous surplus despite not having an income tax, saying:
“But even with no state income tax, Florida just ended its most recent fiscal year with the largest budget surplus in the history of our state. Represented 20 percent of the budget was surplus. And none of that would have been possible had we allowed our state to descend into some type of Faucian dystopia, where people’s freedoms were curtailed and their livelihoods were destroyed. No, we saw how people in places like Pennsylvania were locking people down, and in Florida we lifted people up.”
All in all, a great speech for DeSantis and a great series of rallying calls for American conservatives, a rallying call for all those ready to start fighting back with a vengeance.
