Well, Mike Pence is back in the news, though this time not because of some delusional presidential aspirations he might still harbor despite the resentment many GOP base voters feel toward him over his role in pushing through the final step of confirming Biden’s election in the legislature and not taking the dramatic step of refusing to accept the electoral votes that Trump wanted him to take.
No, though he probably still harbors said delusions, now he’s putting himself back in the limelight by pushing the exact opposite opinions of many GOP voters on two of the biggest issues right now: the January 6th Committee and the FBI.
Starting with the statements about the FBI that RINO Mike Pence recently made, as they’re horrific and show he’s now “our guy,” Pence said, during the “Politics and Eggs” breakfast at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire:
“This unprecedented action does demand unprecedented transparency. I also want to remind my fellow Republicans: We can hold the attorney general accountable for the decision that he made without attacking rank-and-file law enforcement personnel at the FBI.
“The Republican Party is the party of law and order. Our party stands with the men and women who serve on the thin blue line at the federal, state and local level.
“These attacks on the FBI must stop. Calls to defund the FBI are just as wrong as calls to defund the police.”
Watch Mike here:
Sorry Mike, but no. Yes, GOP voters support law and order. That much is true. But the FBI, as shown by its Russia hoax involvement and the recent raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, is very much not on our side. And if it’s not on our side, then that means we need to go on the attack against it.
There’s no room for such fence-sitting as “we oppose it but still support it” anymore; those organizations that attack us need to be taken down a notch, which, in the case of the corrupt FBI, means fighting to defund it.
But that’s not all. In addition to bizarrely taking the side of the FBI after it just raided the leader of the political opposition and tore through his house for hours on end, Mike also said that he would “consider” testifying before the January 6th kangaroo court, saying:
“If there was an invitation to participate, I’d consider it. But you’ve heard me mention the Constitution a few times this morning. … We have three co-equal branches of government, and any invitation that would be directed to me, I would have to reflect on that.
“But as I said, I don’t want to prejudge. If ever any formal invitation (is) rendered to us, we’d give it due consideration.”
Mike is a nice enough guy and probably thinks he’s doing the right thing; unlike Liz Cheney, Kinzinger, and the rest of the TDS crowd, he’s not an inveterate Trump hater. But he is, as shown by his commitment to the FBI and willingness to deal with the January 6th Committee jackals, very much not “our guy.”
