Democrats like to pose as the defenders of the illegal immigrants, claiming that they are the ones who are doing what is best for the illegal immigrants by letting them wander on into the country whenever they want, or at least enabling them to do so with open border policies, sanctuary cities, and refusing to cooperate with the feds to find, arrest, and deport those illegals that make it to America’s cities.
Well, one blue city mayor, Mayor Eric Adams of New York City, isn’t so happy about the problem now that the illegal immigrants are being shipped into his city by Governor Greg Abbott of Texas, who has been convincing illegals to get on buses and then sending them to NYC.
Adams is freaking out about that policy of Abbott’s, and hosted a press conference in which he attacked Abbot for sending all those illegal immigrants, people Democrats theoretically want to be here, to New York.
Speaking about the issue in a recent press conference, Adams said:
“This is horrific when you think about what the governor is doing.
“We’re finding that some of the families are on the bus that wanted to go to other locations, and they were not allowed to do so. They were forced on the bus with the understanding that they were going to other locations that they wanted to go to, and when they tried to explain they were not allowed to do so.”
Adams also complained about not being given a heads up, as it the border state governors get a head up when thousands of illegals come across the border, saying:
“They’re not letting us know when the buses are leaving. They’re not letting us know what are the needs of the people on the bus. They are not giving us any information, so we’re unable to really provide the service to people en route.”
He also tweeted about the issue, with his recent furor being sparked by a busload of just 50 illegals (compared to the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, that are flooding border states under President Slow Joe Biden’s watch. In the tweet, Adams said:
.@GregAbbott_TXused innocent people as political pawns to manufacture a crisis. New Yorkers are stepping up to fix it — that’s our city’s values.
But we need the federal government’s help — money, technical assistance and more.
Abbott, for his part, fired off an utterly unrepentant statement in response, saying:
“In addition to Washington, D.C., New York City is the ideal destination for these migrants, who can receive the abundance of city services and housing that Mayor Eric Adams has boasted about within the sanctuary city.
“I hope he follows through on his promise of welcoming all migrants with open arms so that our overrun and overwhelmed border towns can find relief.”
