The order came down from upon high. Now, Emmy-nominated NBC News reporter Miguel Almaguer finds himself suspended after his blockbuster report completely upended the mainstream narrative on the Paul Pelosi attack in the week ahead of the midterm election.
Miguel Almaguer’s report controversially recast Paul Pelosi as giving no indication to the San Francisco police that he was in danger when he answered the door. You can watch his archived report below.
NBC News subsequently retracted the report and scrubbed his video hit from social media. The Washington Post gives the official version about why this happened.
“NBC News reporter Miguel Almaguer had what seemed like a scoop on Friday about an intruder’s attack last week on Paul Pelosi,” the Post noted. “The curious new details he presented on the ‘Today’ show quickly went viral on right-wing sites and social media accounts.”
“One problem: Much of Almaguer’s account was inaccurate, based on flawed information provided by a source who was unnamed in the report, according to people at the network,” the Post sneered. “Those people said Almaguer was incorrect when he reported that the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) gave police no indication he was in danger when he answered the door. In fact, San Francisco police have said that Pelosi was struggling with the intruder, David DePape, when they first saw him.”
But if you get past the Post’s typical partisan bloviating about the report that got away from the left-wing vanguard at NBC News, there are serious questions about what happened, as was correctly pointed out by Tucker Carlson.
Tucker just ended NBC after they got CAUGHT scrubbing the Today Show's Paul Pelosi report raising questions about the attack:

NBC News was subsequently blasted for retracting the report without giving a good explanation for what precisely was wrong with it.
“A prominent media watchdog is calling on NBC News to be ‘more transparent’ about its stunning retraction of a report last week on the Paul Pelosi attack, and critics from all sides are demanding more of an explanation,” Fox News reported.
“It’s incumbent on NBC to be more transparent about the process, and say publicly what, if anything, was inaccurate in the report,” Steve Krakauer wrote.
“Krakauer, editor of the Fourth Watch media newsletter, believes journalism has traditionally been a ‘skeptical’ profession but the way NBC News handled the Pelosi story is evidence that things have dramatically changed,” the report added.
Journalism has gone from raising skepticism about official narratives with glaring flaws and inconsistencies to attacking skeptics who point them out. This isn’t journalism — it’s state propaganda.
And now, Miguel Almaguer is being punished for his report.
“Miguel Almaguer, a correspondent with NBC’s Today show has been suspended while an internal investigation is conducted at the network after the broadcaster was forced to retract its reporting that only served to fan conspiracy theories about the attack on Paul Pelosi,” the Daily Mail reported.
“Almaguer, 45, who has worked for NBC since 2009, compiled a report that suggested Nancy Pelosi’s husband was not in any danger when police arrived at the couple’s San Francisco home,” the report added.
“It stated, using information from an anonymous source, that Pelosi had told San Francisco police there was no indication he was in any danger and did not declare and emergency when he answered the door,” the report continued.
“After a ‘knock and announce,’ the front door was opened by Mr. Pelosi. The 82-year-old did not immediately declare an emergency or tried to leave his home but instead began walking several feet back into the foyer toward the assailant and away from police. It’s unclear if the 82-year-old was already injured or what his mental state was, say sources,” Almaguer’s voiceover said over the news piece.
“The report, which aired November 4, was later found to be inaccurate as it completely contradicted claims made by both prosecutors and police,” the Mail continued. “The police’s narrative of the incident told how Pelosi was struggling with the intruder, David DePape, when they arrived at his home. Pelosi was left with a cracked skull.”
“Hours later, NBC News removed the video report from their website, stating it ‘did not meet NBC News reporting standards’,” the Mail added.
But that may be the most mysterious part of this whole bizarre story. NBC News has no standards — unless it’s to prop up the unbelievable narratives of the Democratic Party.
