During an interview on Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News, Kyle Rittenhouse talked about how his legal team plans to start a project to protect people from slander by corporate media and hold media organizations accountable for what they say.
Rittenhouse told Carlson, “Me and my team have decided to launch The Media Accountability Project as a tool to help fundraise and hold the media accountable for the lies they said and deal with them in court.”
Carlson asked the 18-year-old during the interview if he planned to sue a certain news company. Rittenhouse didn’t name any news outlets, but he did mention a well-known actor and talk show host.

Rittenhouse said, “Well, right now, we’re looking at quite a few politicians, celebrities, athletes, Whoopi Goldberg’s on the list. She called me a ‘murderer’ after I was acquitted by a jury of my peers. She went on to still say that.”
The idea for The Media Accountability Project came from the fact that Rittenhouse was called every name in the book during his murder trial, even though he was later found not guilty.
Rittenhouse thinks the media should be held accountable for what they said about him. “I don’t want to see anybody else have to deal with what I went through,” he stated. “So I want to hold them accountable for what they did to me, because I don’t want to see anybody have to go through what I went through.”
Along with Whoopi Goldberg, Rittenhouse mentioned Cenk Uygur, the founder of The Young Turks. “And there’s others,” Rittenhouse said. “Don’t forget about Cenk from The Young Turks. He called me a murderer before the verdict, and continues to call me a murderer.”
Rittenhouse has talked about plans to hold other media outlets and celebrities responsible for their false statements, as well as Whoopi Goldberg.
The Media Accountability Project, which Rittenhouse started, is a great way to start holding the media accountable for slander, and it will be an important factor in future cases like this one.
Rittenhouse was found not guilty by a grand jury, so he wasn’t sent to prison.
