Kim Kardashian, the billionaire who made her fortune as a reality star and social media influencer that uses her fame to ink deals and sell products, is now in the crosshairs of a major FBI investigation. That’s because the FBI has connected her to a massive foreign financial scandal. Specifically, the FBI believes that Kardashian accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars from a fugitive Malaysian billionaire named Jho Low.
Knowingly or unknowingly, Kardashian’s ties to Low date back to at least 2009. It was then that the two paired up in Las Vegas for a red-carpet event. During the event, Low, the Malaysian fund manager, paid her $50,000.
And that was just the beginning. According to The Daily Wire, Low allegedly gifted her hundreds of thousands of dollars more in cash with which to gamble after that 2009 meeting. Further, she apparently took a flight home to Los Angeles with more than $250,000 in cash in her carry-on bag that came from the cash he gave her to gamble with.
The Daily Wire reported on the massive financial scandal involving Low, one which includes US authorities, a Malaysian fund, economic development dollars, and communist China. Reporting on that scandal, The Daily Wire reported:
The scandal is the multi-billion dollar graft scandal at state-fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) that resulted in former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak being sent to prison last year for more than a decade.
Malaysian financier Jho Low helped start the fund in 2009 to allegedly promote economic development for the Asian nation, Reuters reported. The report said that the scandal erupted into the largest kleptocracy investigation ever conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice with at least $4.5 billion stolen from the public fund and moved into offshore accounts with billions more still not accounted for. Malaysia says that Low, who is on the run from U.S. authorities, is hiding in China.
Since Low went on the lam, FBI agents have ” grilled ” Kardashian as they explore Low’s reach and whereabouts.
And Kardashian isn’t the only celebrity connected to Low. Leonardo DiCaprio is as well, as his famous 2013 film, “The Wolf of Wall Street,” was ironically funded by Low, a white collar criminal of the same stripe as Jordan Belfort. Apparently, DiCaprio and Low were so close that their own mothers met one another. DiCaprio then went on to work with Low on other business ventures and continued the relationship even after allegedly being made aware of Low’s scandal.
The Hollywood Reporter commented on their relationship, noting that “the pair also dreamed up a $1 billion fund for more films, a Warner Bros. theme park in Asia with rides based on the A-lister’s movies, plus an eco-friendly resort in Belize. Along the way, their social lives became entwined, with DiCaprio introducing Low to his friends as “my man” and Low calling DiCaprio “Ldogg.”’
