Fox News Channel’s token liberal, Geraldo Rivera, just infuriated real conservatives again, this time with what he posted about Trump, saying that the former president is a “threat to the Republic.” Here’s what Geraldo posted:
Donald Trump was a grossly underrated and unfairly besieged president.
I will not vote for him in 2024-not because of what he did in office-but what he did after he lost the election.
In 2024 the danger to the Republic will not be if he wins. It will be if he loses.

Predictably, the Gerlado tweet set off a firestorm of conservative outrage, with commenters saying things like:
“I guess he thinks having an opinion (questioning election results) in the western world is unacceptable. Noted. I wonder if, in his utopia, we’re allowed to question the approach of WWIII.”
“Funny, just about everything he said has come true. Now I really doubt he actually lost the 2020 election. I’m voting for Tump in 2024.”
“@GeraldoRivera these words are used and have been used by hundreds of leaders throughout our history.
It is never taken literally, unless of course it spoken by Trump. “Fight like hell. And if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore,” he said.”
“@FoxNews he should be removed as zero proof after 2 years of Trump inciting violence on Jan6. Check his own Twitter! @SpeakerMcCarthy release the Jan6 videos now!”
“@FoxNews why does he still work for you?”
“Why is the liberal mustache still on fox?”
This isn’t the only time that Geraldo has infuriated conservatives. In fact, he’s even started getting his fellow “The Five” cohosts angry, as shown by a recent spat between him and Greg Gutfeld. That fight began with Geraldo saying he was thinking about getting an EV Bentley, saying, “I was gonna buy an EV Bentley. They offered me a $7,500 rebate. I said, I don’t need the $7,500.”
Gutfeld then kicked the fight off by mocking Geraldo for his elitism and being out of touch, saying, “Thank God you connect with our audience,”
Rivera, continuing, said, “But you see what is happening in terms of the private sector. It is changing at a pace more rapid than we ever anticipated. Here’s one thing. Electric-powered vehicles have 60% efficiency in terms of the conversion of energy to the wheels turning. Gas-powered is 17% to 21%. Electric vehicles are three times more energy efficient in terms of making your car go than gas-powered.”
Dana Perino got in a jab at EVs too, saying, “This is great for child laborers in Congo, who get buried alive trying to mine these minerals for everybody who wants these electric cars.”
When Geraldo asked what was wrong and why Gutfled was saying that he was trying to control himself, Gutfeld responded by snapping at Geraldo, saying, “Because you said ‘EV Bentley,’” he replied. “And you just explained why people like you find it so easy to sermonize about electric vehicles, because you can afford it.”
Geraldo then tried to put Gutfeld on the defensive, snapping back “Are you attacking me?” Gutfeld wasn’t perturbed, responding by saying, “Yes, I am attacking you!”
Continuing, he then pointed out what he characterized as the absurdity of promoting expensive vehicles at a time when people are struggling financially, saying, “Who has to pay for the charging stations? Our Audience! Who has to pay for the transition from gas to electric stoves? Our audience! You have to bear the brunt of your beliefs, and you don’t because you can afford an EV Bentley!”
Rivera then tried to fight back, saying, “Who has to pay for the cancer they get from the gas-powered cars?” Gutfeld, continuing to push back, said, “Oh God, you don’t even have the science to back that up. You have to bear the brunt of your beliefs, and you don’t because you can afford an EV Bentley. You’re telling our audience to suck on it!”
Geraldo then again tried to put Gutfeld on the defensive, asking him what kind of car he drives, to which Gutfeld responded by saying, “A $45,000 car, yes. Yeah, I know. It’s no Bentley. I’m sorry, Geraldo.”
