In his appearance on “The Brian Kilmeade Show,” Julian Epstein, a prominent Democratic lawyer and former chief counsel for the House Judiciary Committee, didn’t mince words when critiquing Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ handling of the case against former President Donald Trump in Georgia. Epstein labeled Willis’ conduct as an “utter embarrassment,” sparking controversy and drawing attention to the deep divisions within legal and political circles surrounding high-profile cases involving Trump.
But Epstein’s criticism didn’t stop there. He also took aim at President Joe Biden’s immigration policies, painting a bleak picture of the situation at the U.S. border. Epstein described the system as “completely out of control,” attributing the chaos to the Biden administration. He highlighted the administration’s inability to effectively manage the influx of migrants and criticized its handling of integration into the immigration system, drawing comparisons to the challenges faced in Europe.
Turning to the economic front, Epstein addressed the concept of “Bidenomics,” acknowledging the White House’s departure from the term despite initial optimism about Biden’s economic plan. His comments echoed the skepticism shared by many regarding the administration’s ability to address economic disparities and uplift the middle and lower classes.
Discussing legal battles over immigration enforcement, Epstein pointed to Texas’ SB4 law as a source of contention and legal wrangling, particularly with the Supreme Court. He characterized the situation as a “catastrophe” created by the Biden administration.
The conversation eventually returned to the controversy surrounding Fulton County, with Epstein suggesting that Willis should resign or recuse herself from the case. He expressed doubts about the circumstances surrounding Willis’ hiring of her boyfriend and the reimbursements involved, implying that there may have been a kickback scheme at play. Epstein also questioned the credibility of claims regarding the timeline of their relationship, supporting the judge’s decision to allow the Trump team to appeal and raising concerns about Willis’ continued involvement in the case.
“If Fani Willis had any real interest in this case she would resign or accuse herself from it,” Epstein said. “This is an utter embarrassment. I mean this looks to me, in my opinion, this was a kickback scheme where she hired a boyfriend who was then providing her all kinds of benefits. I think the whole claim about the reimbursements is hard to believe.”
