In a recent uproariously entertaining segment of “The Daily Show,” comedian Marlon Wayans, embodying the character “Quon,” had viewers in stitches as he satirically grilled Nathan Wade, the erstwhile special prosecutor in the highly publicized Georgia election interference case involving former President Donald Trump. Wade, known for his contentious ties with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, found himself at the center of Wayans’ sharp and playfully risqué interrogation.
During the sketch, Wayans, as “Quon,” unabashedly dished out provocative questions, teasing out the complexities of Wade’s professional relationships, particularly with Willis, and his role in the legal drama surrounding Trump.
“So let me ask you, when old girl was like, ‘Hey babe, you want to be in charge of this prosecution of the President of the United States who did this insurrection,’ did you think like, this could get messy? Or you was like, nah, I’ll be all right?” Wayans ribbed.
Attempting to keep a straight face, Wade clarified, “We did not have that type of relationship at the outset. And we were interviewing other people for the position.” Wayans, quick on the draw, quipped back, “What position was it?” as he humorously contorted into suggestive poses, much to the audience’s amusement.

The drama escalated when Wade, amid mounting scrutiny, resigned from his role as special prosecutor, following attempts by Trump’s legal team to leverage his relationship with Willis to undermine the credibility of the case. Wade’s departure added another twist to the ongoing legal saga surrounding the former president.
Wade’s career trajectory—from Marietta’s first Black male judge to a notable stint in the Cobb County Superior Court—was marked by his significant legal acumen. However, his personal connection with Willis stirred controversy, culminating in accusations of impropriety and a forced resignation from the Trump case. Despite stepping down, Wade was instrumental in presenting compelling evidence to the grand jury, which ultimately indicted Trump and 18 others in August 2023.
In a reflective moment, Wade admitted in a May interview with ABC News that he and Willis should have temporarily halted their romance, which persisted through his divorce proceedings and the tumultuous Trump trial.
“When you are in the middle of it, these feelings are developing and you get to a point where the feelings are so strong that you start to want to do things that really are none of the public’s concern,” Wade shared, shedding light on the personal strains under public scrutiny.

As the saga continues, the aftermath of Wade’s resignation and the ongoing legal proceedings against Trump still dominate headlines, while Willis faces formidable challenges, including a strong Republican challenger in her reelection bid and a lawsuit from a former Democratic lawmaker.
