Joe Rogan couldn’t help but burst into laughter earlier this week when he played a clip of MSNBC host Joe Scarborough fervently defending President Joe Biden amid a storm of criticism following last week’s debate performance.
The renowned podcaster and comedian showed the moment Scarborough began his passionate rant with a blunt “F you” directed at viewers who disagreed, declaring, “This version of Biden — intellectually, analytically — is the best Biden ever.” His statement sent Rogan into fits of laughter.
“And these people say that Trump’s a liar!” his guest, comedian Jimmy Dore chimed in, adding to the humor.
As they continued discussing, Rogan likened the situation to a “Coen brothers movie,” emphasizing the absurdity of the political commentary landscape. “I don’t know how many people tune in… but can you imagine watching after that,” Dore pondered, to which Rogan humorously replied, “Yes, I’d wake and bake and let’s go.”

The defense of Biden by MSNBC has been notably staunch throughout the final year of his term, with figures like Scarborough often portraying Biden’s record as a triumph or cautioning that a re-elected Trump could endanger freedoms by placing Americans in “cages.” In a particularly dire forecast, MSNBC’s Ana Cabrera in April suggested that a Trump appointee in the Justice Department could transform the U.S. into a “banana republic.”
In a tone of grave concern during a June interview, Rachel Maddow expressed fears to CNN’s Olivia Darcy about the threats posed by Trump, who she claimed harbored plans to detain millions: “I’m worried about the country broadly if we put someone in power who is openly avowing that he plans to build camps to hold millions of people, and to ‘root out’ what he’s described in subhuman terms as his ‘enemy from within.'”
In the wake of Biden’s lackluster debate showing, tensions flared at MSNBC, leading to on-air disagreements between Scarborough and his co-host and wife, Mika Brzezinski. The acrimony was palpable as they debated just how precarious Biden’s position had become. Scarborough’s absence from the show the following day, leaving Brzezinski to host solo, did little to quell the sense of internal strife within the network.
