President Trump recently took aim at California Governor Gavin Newsom and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker during an appearance on Fox and Friends. He declared that ensuring America’s security against Russia starts with selecting the right president. “All you can do is make sure you get a good president, not one of these wackos, like in California that runs the worst state anybody’s seen,” he asserted, referencing Newsom. He didn’t hold back on Pritzker either, saying he has “zero chance” of winning a presidential bid.
Trump contrasted his administration’s foreign policy with those of his predecessors. While under George W. Bush, Russia invaded Georgia, and under Barack Obama, it seized Crimea, Trump stated that during his presidency, America experienced peace with Russia. “Under President Trump, Russia did not invade, nor take anything,” emphasized White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. She highlighted Trump’s ability to maintain a stable relationship with Russia, claiming he is the only modern president to keep them in check.
Putin himself suggested that the Ukraine war might not have occurred if Trump were in office, saying he had advised the previous American administration to avoid escalating tensions. “I tried to convince my previous American colleague that the situation should not be brought to the point of no return when it would come to hostilities,” Putin mentioned.
Following a recent peace summit that involved Trump, Zelensky, and European leaders, Trump stressed the need for strong leadership to deter further aggression from Putin. “Don’t get a weak president,” he advised, outlining how swift action during his term led to improved border security and reduced illegal immigration. He expressed pride in his administration’s efforts in building physical barriers at the border, stating, “I built hundreds of miles of wall.”
With excitement about the future, Trump hinted at a solid group of potential successors. “We have a great bench, as you know that, we have great talent,” he said, suggesting strong candidates could emerge for the next presidential election. Whether addressing sanctions, immigration, or national security, Trump made it clear that strong leadership is critical to facing threats from abroad.
