In her account, Loomer writes, “Despite the U.S. saying we are not accepting Palestinian ‘refugees’ into the United States under the Trump administration, I have obtained video footage of Palestinians who claim to be refugees from Gaza coming into the United States.” This statement raises pressing questions regarding visa approval processes, particularly how individuals have managed to travel from Gaza.
Loomer highlights how these activists arrived with the assistance of Heal Palestine, a nonprofit organization that claims to provide urgent relief to Palestinians. However, scrutiny has emerged regarding Heal Palestine’s financial practices and its connections to past organizations linked to controversial funding activities.
In response to Loomer’s claims, Florida State Representative Randy Fine expressed deep concern, stating, “If true, this is absolutely unacceptable.” His office is working to determine how these visas were issued and to understand any implications for national security. Following the mounting pressure, the State Department announced a suspension of these visa releases. Their statement noted, “All visitor visas for individuals from Gaza are being stopped while we conduct a full and thorough review of the process and procedures used to issue a small number of temporary medical-humanitarian visas in recent days.”
