Several significant trends have emerged since Donald Trump’s return to office, painting a landscape that many find encouraging. The most striking development is in crime statistics, where the murder rate has witnessed its largest single-year drop on record. Reports indicate a decline of around 20 percent in 2025, suggesting a substantial improvement in public safety. Furthermore, drug-related deaths have seen a notable reduction. Overdose deaths, particularly related to opioids, fell by an estimated 34 percent, highlighting a focused effort to combat substance abuse.

Border security also shows promise, with illegal crossings at their lowest point since the 1970s. U.S. Border Patrol recorded nearly 238,000 apprehensions for fiscal year 2025, far fewer than the figures from previous years, indicating progress in controlling the border crisis.

The economy is thriving as well, marked by all-time high stock market performance. The S&P 500 reached four new records in 2025, closing at 6,932.05 on December 24. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average achieved a milestone closing number of 48,731.16, reinforcing a narrative of economic resurgence.

Tax relief for Americans has also been historic. Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, many taxpayers will benefit from the largest tax cuts seen in U.S. history. Projections indicate that refunds for the 2026 tax season could average between $1,000 and $2,000 per household. Such cuts, retroactive to January 1, 2025, aim to alleviate financial burdens for families across the income spectrum, particularly benefiting service-industry workers and middle-class Americans.

Job growth figures demonstrate a turnaround as well. Under Trump’s administration, 2.5 million jobs were added for American citizens, a stark contrast to the previous administration where many job gains were attributed to recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic rather than new employment. Between Trump’s term and the Biden administration, job dynamics shifted significantly. While federal employment reached unprecedented heights under Biden, with a significant portion favoring foreign-born workers, 2025 saw a different pattern emerge with native-born employment recovering substantially.

Record-high tariff revenues, amounting to $216.7 billion in fiscal year 2025, further illustrate a booming economy fueled by Trump’s policies. This growth in revenue represents a 146 percent increase over the previous year, indicating that tariffs are effectively contributing to the national coffers.

Investment from abroad is also flourishing. With total commitments exceeding $18 trillion, foreign direct investment has skyrocketed during Trump’s administration, where billions have been pledged across various international agreements with countries such as Saudi Arabia and Japan. This influx stands in stark contrast to the approximately $896 billion in foreign investment seen during Biden’s four years, underscoring a resurgence in American appeal for global investment.

On the health front, Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made strides in improving the American food supply, pushing for the phase-out of harmful artificial dyes. The response from the food industry has been overwhelmingly positive, with many pledging to eliminate such chemicals, showcasing a proactive approach to public health.

In education, historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) received unprecedented support, with funding hitting $1.38 billion, a significant increase demonstrating commitment to educational equity.

Moreover, gas prices have fallen to a four-year low, and record-breaking military recruitment figures reflect a renewed sense of duty and patriotism among Americans. With military operations winding down, the removal of diversity, equity, and inclusion measures from government and military fronts signals a shift back to tradition and service.

While Hollywood continues to lag behind in embracing conservative values, the rise of faith-based entertainment has gained momentum. Christian engagement has surged, with significant increases in Bible app downloads and sales, along with notable success of faith-based films at the box office. The film “Sound of Freedom,” for instance, grossed over $250 million from a modest production budget, illustrating a hunger for content that aligns with traditional narratives.

Trump articulated a vision to make America great again, and though challenges persist, many Americans see tangible progress on multiple fronts. Signs suggest that the nation is steadily moving toward a more favorable state, reinforcing a sense of gratitude and cautious optimism at the close of the year.
