The suspect, identified as Luis Javier Gallegos Jr. from Rancho Cucamonga, was seen with a lighter and a backpack, igniting blazes in various stores, including the True Religion outlet and Nordstrom Rack. Police received reports around 10:30 a.m. and quickly arrived at the scene. Officers spotted Gallegos inside the True Religion store, where he was setting fire amid the merchandise.
