The recent incident involving a semi-truck driver who allegedly killed two people in a hit-and-run near Sacramento has raised serious concerns about road safety and the implications of illegal immigration. The driver, identified as Manvir Singh, is an illegal alien from India who reportedly fled the scene after causing the fatal crash. Authorities have charged him with vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and hit-and-run resulting in death.

This event is not an isolated case. Singh is now the fourth illegal alien truck driver from India with the last name “Singh” to be linked to similar tragedies across the United States. The circumstances surrounding these incidents are troubling, especially as reports indicate that Singh was previously caught and released at the Arizona border in 2023 under the current administration’s policies.

Senator Jim Banks expressed his outrage over the repeated loss of innocent lives due to illegal immigrants on American roads, stating, “It makes me sick reading about these preventable tragedies. I introduced the Dalilah Law to put a stop to it!” His commitment to addressing this issue reflects a growing concern shared by many about the dangers posed by unregulated driving practices among illegal immigrants.

The troubling pattern does not end with Manvir Singh. Just months prior, another illegal alien driver, Singh Sukhdeep, fatally struck an elderly man in Indiana. In December, Kamalpreet Singh caused the death of a 29-year-old man in Washington State, also while driving a semi-truck—this after having been released by immigration officials. These cases point to serious questions regarding the screening and oversight of commercial drivers who may not have the necessary legal status to operate vehicles safely in the U.S.

Further incidents involve Rajinder Kumar, who killed two people in Oregon after his trailer jackknifed, and Jashanpreet Singh, who made headlines for a deadly DUI crash in Southern California that claimed three lives. Additionally, Harjinder Singh was responsible for a crash on a Florida highway that killed three individuals. All of these drivers had been allowed to obtain commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) in various states, despite their immigration status, raising concerns about the regulatory systems in place for truck drivers.

The American Trucking Industry has voiced its alarm over the increasing prevalence of unregulated immigration and its impact on safety standards in the industry. A notable statement remarked, “These ‘California’ drivers are part of an ecosystem that puts profit over safety. That puts greed before your family.” This recognition underscores a significant issue around public safety on the roads, especially when it concerns the qualifications and backgrounds of those behind the wheel of large commercial vehicles.

As the investigation into Manvir Singh’s actions unfolds, it is imperative to consider the broader implications of allowing individuals without proper legal status to operate commercial vehicles. Tragedies like these beg the question of accountability and the effectiveness of current immigration policies related to public safety. With rising numbers of incidents involving illegal alien drivers, the urgency to reassess these policies grows stronger.

The story of Manvir Singh and others like him is a stark reminder that legal and regulatory oversights can have dire consequences. Continued scrutiny and action may be necessary to prevent further loss of innocent lives on American roads.
