Remember Asa Hutchinson? He’s the RINO Governor of Arkansas, the guy that just couldn’t bring himself to do what his constituents wanted him to do and sign a bill that would keep trans athletes out of women’s sports, letting girls compete against girls instead of men identifying as girls.
Well, as could be predicted given his lack of spine and willingness to stand for conservative values, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson is back at it, this time seemingly doing his very best to appear like a complete RINO and sellout ot the leftist regime.
What’d he do? He did what only the Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger types on the “right” have so far done: he defended the FBI raid on Trump during a cable news interview, going full RINO.
That defense of America’s Stasi came when he appeared on CNN and spoke about the raid, comparing Trump to Hillary and saying:
“Well, that’s a great question, and that’s exactly what has to be weighed by the Department of Justice. Accountability is important.
“But I do believe — and I’ve thought a lot about the comparisons with former secretary of state Hillary Clinton. There was reckless handling of classified information, extremely reckless, I believe was the words. It was investigated. And the ultimate decision was not to pursue any criminal case. That could very well be the outcome in this matter.
“In the public interest, as you know, there should be a high likelihood of securing a conviction if there is an indictment. Just as importantly in the broad public interest of the former president of the United States, this needs to be concluded unless there is such egregious conduct that cannot be ignored, then we need to bring this to a conclusion. Once the public interest and securing the documents is obtained.”
Hillary wiped an email server to hide that she was using a private one she wasn’t allowed to use. Trump, as president, declassified documents that he was allowed to declassify and took them home with him, also allowed. Then he cooperated with the National Archives. Their cases are not the same and, even if they were, the FBI has acted in such a shocking way regarding Trump that makes what happened to Hillary pale in comparison.
In any case, that wasn’t all Governor Hutchinson had to say when appearing on the leftie network. He also attacked Trump for keeping the documents with him, ignoring that he had declassified the documents and saying:
“In the short term, you could almost give the attorney general the title of honorary fund raiser and campaign manager for Donald Trump. I think it’s important we keep the public interest in mind. The public interest is making sure that classified information, sensitive public documents, are returned to archives, to their protected environment. It’s not appropriate for these documents to be running loose at Mar-a-Lago. That’s not appropriate. That has to be returned and secure. And then this whole thing needs to be wrapped up.
“Unless there’s something that is totally oblivious to the facts that we know now, this is not something that I see leading to indictments. I don’t see that. It needs to be wrapped up. And I hope that can be accomplished in the future so that we can get on with the business of the country and get the documents restored. And I think that was the motivation of the Department of Justice. But who knows whenever they have not spoken clearly about it?”
Wrong, Asa, wrong. The FBI raided the home of the former president. It must be condemned, not treated with the seesaw sort of “on this one hand and on the other” treatment RINOs always give those subjects they’re too cowardly to deal with honestly.
