Once again, a conservative news host was forced to be the voice of reason and decency when Megyn Kelly bashed Chrissy Teigen’s “non-existent dress” at the White House Correspondents Dinner.
Kelly used her wit to dismantle the gaudy dress that Teigan wore at the WHCD, cracking jokes at the expense of the Hollywood star, who clearly did not know about the appropriate attire for the event. Kelly said:
“Here she is with John Legend her husband. She has, by my count, three minions following her – that’s minions in her view – following her, holding the dress or the train of her non-existent dress.”
“I can see underwear, okay? I can see London, I see France, I see Chrissy’s underpants, which nobody shows underpants at the White House correspondents’ dinner. Okay, Chrissy? They just don’t do it. And nobody shows up with serfs to carry their train which there shouldn’t be on your White House correspondents’ dinner dress anyway, because it’s barely a formal event.”
“The elitism, the serfs behind her, the self-importance, the aggrandizement of this fake, stupid event It just tells you everything you need to know…It’s an absolute humiliation that she tried that hard for the White House correspondents’ dinner. She should be embarrassed.”
Twitter users were also quick to pile on the jokes at the expense of Teigen. One Twitter user quipped that “Chrissy Teigen forgot part of her dress tonight for the White House Correspondents dinner.” Another user, Collin Rugg of Trending Politics, said:
“Far-left model Chrissy Teigen walking to the White House correspondents dinner with her servants trailing behind her to hold her dress.
“This is what peak liberalism looks like.”
Glenn Greenwald Tweeted that the dress “reminds me of that COVID-era video of a huge team of masked servants getting AOC ready for the Met Gala by working on her hair, nails, feet, and dress while she and her boyfriend lounged around unmasked.”
And this isn’t the first time Megyn Kelly has taken a strong stance on women’s clothing. She did so as well when Nike signed Dylan Mulvaney as an advertising partner for its sports bras. Kelly ripped into the company for that, saying:
“Nike sponsoring Dylan Mulvaney now for f****ing sports bra. I’m sorry, Dylan doesn’t have breasts. Dylan’s been taking some sort of a hormone that has turned Dylan into some — I don’t know what’s happening there. But those are not breasts.”
“And Dylan doesn’t need any sort of a bra — never mind a sports bra. The three ladies on this program right now have six boobs between us, and we actually know what it’s like to wear a bra, and no one would be inspired to buy one based on non-breasted Dylan Mulvaney prancing around in a Nike sports bra.”
Continuing, Kelly went on to say that it looks like Mulvaney has “an eating disorder” and shouldn’t be “anybody’s spokesperson for anything. If there were a woman who looked like that, she couldn’t get an endorsement because they say she clearly is unwell.”
