Chiraq once again went viral because of its rampant crime situation, this time thanks to a video out of Chicago’s O’Hare airport showing a massive brawl erupting in the baggage claim terminal.
The now viral video footage that is getting passed around Twitter reveals a group of at least six men and women throwing hands with each other close to one of the baggage claim areas, according to Fox News.
“A verbal dispute while deplaning escalated in the lower level of terminal 3 when a 24-year-old female victim was punched by two offenders,” the Chicago Police Department went on to say in a statement given to the news network.
During one portion of the video, there are two females sprawled on the floor tugging at each other’s hair. This is an all out, no-holds-barred brawl, ladies and gentlemen.
A few moments later, the two women get up and are separated, only for one of the them to get attacked from by another female who seems to have some sort of object in her hand. That’s immediately bad news, and one of many reasons getting into these kind of fights is not the wisest idea.
Along comes another fellow who rushes the woman attacker and shoves her to the ground.
Someone can be heard yelling in the background as another man throws a punch at the female attackers head. So what started this fray? As of this writing, no one is sure.
Law enforcement officers have since taken Christopher Hampton, 18, of Maywood, Illinois, and Tembra Hicks, 20, of Carol Stream, Illinois, into custody. They are both facing a misdemeanor count of battery.
“Safety and security are always the top priorities of the Chicago Department of Aviation,” the operator of the airport stated during an interview with Fox32 Chicago. “We work closely with all of our federal partners present at O’Hare and Midway International Airports and the Chicago Police Department to ensure that everyone is safe when they are in our facilities.”
That was far from the only violence in Chicago recently. For example, gunfire broke out thanks to another brawl, this time with nearly 100 “teens” getting into a fight on one of Chicago’s 22 recently opened beaches and gunfire resulting from the dispute.
Fox 32, reporting on the incident, said:
Just hours after opening for the summer, gunfire rang out at North Avenue Beach during a large fight on Friday, police said.
About 80 to 100 teenagers were gathered at the beach around 1:26 p.m. when the fight broke out and one person pulled out a gun and fired it, according to police.
No one was struck by the gunfire, and a juvenile was taken into custody. Charges were pending, police said.
Police also said they had not recovered the gun.
