Former President Donald Trump, currently leading the pack in the 2024 presidential race, reportedly won’t be tapping tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy as his running mate, according to a fresh report.
“Bloomberg has learned that Donald Trump has nixed Vivek Ramaswamy as his vice presidential choice, eyeing him instead for a position in the Cabinet as the potential Republican nominee sizes up his potential administration,” Bloomberg disclosed.
“Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Trump personally informed Ramaswamy of this decision during discussions, but is mulling over various roles for him, including the position of Homeland Security secretary. Some of Trump’s allies believe Ramaswamy would be an excellent fit for the role due to his strong oratory skills and his background as an Indian-American son of an immigrant, which they think could help counter criticism of stringent immigration policies,” the report elaborated.
Bloomberg also hinted that Donald Trump is weighing the possibility of ousted Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy as a potential chief of staff.
Back in January, Ramaswamy halted his own presidential campaign and threw his support behind Donald Trump for the presidency.
“As of this moment, we are suspending this presidential campaign,” Vivek declared to the crowd. “There’s no viable path for me to become president without things we don’t want to see happening in this country.”
Ramaswamy then went on to announce his endorsement of Trump for the Republican nomination going forward.
“Tonight, I reached out to Donald Trump to… congratulate him on his triumph, and from now on, he’ll have my unwavering endorsement for the presidency because I believe we’re doing what’s best for this nation,” Ramaswamy declared. “So, I urge you to join me in elevating our America First movement to the next level.”
By February, speculation was rife about Vivek Ramaswamy potentially becoming the Vice President, especially after his appearance at a Trump event mid-month.
“That’s the winning combo!!!” exclaimed Baroness von M.
“I’m dying to know if Vivek will be the VP. Waiting is torture,” lamented Sassafrass84.
“VP vibes?” pondered News Nomad.
“I’m rooting for Vivek as VP,” chimed in an account named Deep State.
“Vivek as VP would be amazing,” praised Rasta Rocket.
“Trump/Vivek, that’s what I’m hoping for,” echoed Steven Hasty.
While that scenario might not be in the cards, the prospect of Vivek Ramaswamy as the Homeland Security Secretary? That’s a Cabinet appointment many Trump supporters would likely get behind.
