Former President Donald Trump has surged ahead of President Biden in CNN’s latest presidential survey, marking the widest margin in the survey’s history.

In a direct matchup, Trump maintains a solid 49 percent support, while President Biden’s backing has slipped to 43 percent from 45 percent earlier this year.

Assessing job performance, 55 percent of respondents now view Trump’s first term as successful, a significant increase from the 44 percent who deemed it a failure shortly after he left office. Conversely, just 39 percent see President Biden’s presidency as a success, with a staggering 61 percent labeling it a failure.

Among independents, 51 percent view Trump’s presidency favorably, compared to only 37 percent who feel the same about Biden’s tenure.

The latest poll reflects a sustained trend of dissatisfaction with President Biden’s performance, with 60 percent expressing disapproval, consistent with CNN’s findings over the past year.

On specific issues, President Biden receives negative ratings for his handling of the economy and inflation. Even in areas where he receives relatively higher approval, such as health care policy and student loan forgiveness, his ratings remain below 50 percent.

Regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict, President Biden’s approval rating is strikingly low, with only 21 percent approving of his handling of the issue and a significant 71 percent disapproving. This sentiment is particularly pronounced among younger voters, with 81 percent expressing disapproval—a concerning trend for Biden, given their pivotal role in his 2020 victory.
