A recent report from the medical watchdog group “Do No Harm” uncovers the significant influence transgender activists have in American children’s hospitals. The 36-page document titled “How The Human Rights Campaign’s Healthcare Equality Index Infects Pediatric Hospitals With Gender Ideology” suggests that these groups should be completely removed from the healthcare system.
The report details how the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) pushes hospitals to adopt radical policies. Among these policies is the requirement for hospitals to provide LGBTQ+ leadership training, inquire about patients’ “gender identity,” and offer insurance coverage for child sex-change procedures like puberty blockers. Dr. Kurt Miceli, Medical Director of Do No Harm, remarked, “It is time to expose and root out the Human Rights Campaign’s vast influence over healthcare systems.” He further stated that it’s crucial for medical professionals to confront the harmful practices being imposed by the HRC.
The Healthcare Equality Index (HEI), a rating system pushed by the HRC, pressures hospitals to focus on gender ideology. Hospitals are evaluated based on five categories, with a perfect score often requiring the implementation of “transgender-specific clinical services.” The report explains that to achieve these scores, hospitals are under enormous pressure to initiate sex-change clinics if they haven’t already.
Furthermore, the HEI pushes hospitals to mandate participation in staff training approved by the HRC. Critics liken this training to indoctrination, citing troubling statements made by presenters in these sessions. One example includes a presenter asking, “What do you feel like? There is no right or wrong answer.” Alarmingly, healthcare providers may ask these questions without a parent present, raising serious concerns about the lack of parental guidance in critical matters affecting children’s lives.
Financial incentives play a vital role in this shift. In 2024, 41 pediatric hospitals opted to engage with the HEI, with 20 achieving a perfect score. The report clearly states, “Hospitals that participate in the Healthcare Equality Index with a score of 100 communicate publicly and proudly that they will perform all manner of interventions for the purpose of pediatric medical transition.”
The report concludes by urging hospitals and healthcare providers to sever ties with the HRC to shield children from what it calls harmful ideologies. It describes the “roots of gender ideology” as deeply and extensively entrenched, stating that these influences will not back down easily. The recommendation is straightforward: these troubling connections must be uncovered and entirely removed to protect families and children.
