According to reports from the Baltimore City Fire Department (BCFD), firefighters quickly arrived on the scene after receiving multiple calls about the explosion aboard a commercial vessel. As they approached, they identified the vessel as the W-Sapphire, a 751-foot bulk carrier that showed signs of damage consistent with an explosion and fire.
