House Oversight Chairman James Comer has made startling claims regarding President Joe Biden’s health and the communication, or lack thereof, between Biden and his aides. On Thursday, Comer disclosed that Ian Sams, Biden’s communications director, admitted to interacting with the president only twice. This revelation raises significant questions about the transparency of Biden’s administration, particularly concerning allegations of a cover-up regarding his cognitive abilities.

Comer emphasized the severity of the situation, calling it a “historic scandal.” He demanded clarity on when Biden’s mental decline began, its extent, and who has been making crucial decisions during this period. The chairman’s calls for testimony from Biden’s physician and former advisors underline the urgency of the inquiry. “Key executive actions signed by autopen, such as sweeping pardons for the Biden Crime Family, must be examined considering President Biden’s diminished capacity,” Comer stated, highlighting that these actions could be tied to the president’s alleged inability to govern effectively.

Earlier in the year, Comer had already issued subpoenas to Biden’s aides as part of this investigation. He criticized the administration for obstructing efforts to gather information. “In the last Congress, the Biden White House blocked these individuals from providing testimony to the Oversight Committee as part of the effort to cover up Biden’s declining health,” he noted. With such circumstances at play, Comer indicated that “any continued obstruction will be met with swift and decisive action.”

On that same day, Sams appeared on Capitol Hill for his deposition but refused to engage with reporters, avoiding questions about his limited contact with Biden. Comer pointed out, “One of the most shocking things to me… is that Sams communicated with Joe Biden two times.” He stressed that this shows how removed key staff might be from the president’s day-to-day decision-making, adding that other individuals had more interaction with Biden than his communications chief.

This situation not only fuels the ongoing investigation but also exacerbates concerns about who truly has control over the White House. As the inquiries continue, the need for accountability and transparency in the Biden administration grows more critical than ever.
