This roundtable follows Trump’s controversial order to deploy National Guard troops to Portland, Oregon—a city that has seen significant unrest tied to Antifa-related incidents. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who has criticized the legacy media’s coverage of Antifa, emphasized that the administration’s approach to labeling Antifa as a terrorist organization is a step towards confronting the group’s escalating violence. “This is something the president campaigned on because we have seen a rise in violence perpetuated by Antifa,” she remarked in a previous media briefing.
