Law enforcement developments during the first ten months of President Donald Trump’s administration can be summed up as “bombshell fatigue.” Many Trump supporters find themselves feeling jaded, and after months of sensational stories promising accountability, a common refrain is emerging: “Wake me up when deep-state operatives finally pay for their crimes.”

A recent report from Blaze News raises eyebrows. Glenn Beck, co-founder of Blaze Media, announced on “The Glenn Beck Program” that new information regarding the person responsible for placing pipe bombs near the Republican and Democratic National Committees on January 5, 2021, may be the “biggest scandal of my lifetime.” Beck’s anticipation is palpable as he prepares to reveal the suspect’s identity, but caution is advised. He acknowledges that various federal agencies are currently “battening down the hatches” in response to potential fallout.

Investigative reporters Steve Baker and Joseph Hanneman have been digging deep into this case. During his phone interview with Beck, Baker shared that he uncovered significant evidence leading him to believe they are closing in on the bomber. “I was so shocked by what I saw,” he stated, expressing both disbelief and urgency. He approached a high-level federal agency with his findings, only to receive a staggering reaction: “Holy F… She’s one of us!”

This stunning assertion raises alarms about deeper implications. Beck hints that this investigation is about more than just one individual; it could ensnare many others at the highest levels of power. However, it is Baker’s decision not to take this information directly to the FBI that raises questions. He claims the FBI might be engaged in a cover-up. Baker’s confidence shines through as he discusses his method for suspect identification. Using gait analysis, the software reportedly achieved a 94 percent accuracy rate, further bolstered by expert human analysis. Baker’s tone suggests he believes they have struck gold.

Yet, Thursday afternoon brought disappointment. Baker tweeted that the Blaze team had “hit the pause button,” stating that they needed more time for the involved parties to review their evidence. Skepticism erupted online, with critics questioning the logic of delaying a story for the government’s sake. Brandon Straka expressed his doubts directly: “Why would a journalist wait to break a story so that the government could have more time?” Others, like Hans Mahncke, echoed the sentiment, voicing concern over the tendency for build-up without follow-through, which often leads to disillusionment among supporters.

This disappointment reflects a deeper trend. Trump supporters have felt stung by prior bombshells that fell flat. Confidence in the administration’s law enforcement measures has been shaken. Baker’s hesitation to involve the FBI underscores this distrust. Justified or not, the record of Trump’s law enforcement officials has not inspired confidence. An example of this is Attorney General Pam Bondi, who many believe failed to fulfill her promise of accountability related to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Reports of Assistant FBI Director Dan Bongino’s frustration with Bondi illustrate internal conflicts that have further eroded public trust.

The FBI itself has contributed to this erosion. Both Bongino and FBI Director Kash Patel previously affirmed that Epstein’s death in custody was a suicide. Many in the public find this assertion unconvincing, calling into question the agency’s credibility. Additionally, Trump’s appeal for swift justice for individuals like former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James continues to resonate. Comey and James now face federal indictments, but the public’s hope seems dimmed.

The persistent missteps and inconsistency of law enforcement threaten the progress of crucial investigations. The oversight offered by individuals like Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard demonstrates a clear contrast; she traced the origins of the Russia collusion narrative, yet that thorough work has so far not yielded any charges.

Hope lingers on the horizon that Baker and Beck may finally bring clarity to this complex case, yet past experiences foster skepticism that does not rest on their shoulders. Current law enforcement has yet to earn trust. Until the promised revelations emerge, many remain cautiously optimistic but fiercely critical. Only time will tell if this latest development fulfills its monumental promise or becomes another chapter in the saga of disappointment.
