Authorities have made a significant breakthrough in the investigation of the November shooting that left New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd critically injured. The suspect, linked to the attack, was taken into custody in Buffalo, New York. This operation involved both U.S. Marshals and NYPD detectives. However, the suspect’s identity has not been publicly disclosed.

The incident occurred on November 16, around 2 a.m., outside a Manhattan restaurant. Boyd, just 29 years old, was shot in the abdomen during a confrontation that escalated rapidly after a group of strangers began taunting him and his friends. Reports suggest that the group’s comments included, “You think you’re better than us?” This confrontation turned violent soon after they left the club, resulting in two shots being fired, one of which struck Boyd.

The injuries Boyd sustained were severe. The bullet traveled into his abdomen, reaching his lung and becoming lodged in his pulmonary artery. Emergency responders rushed him to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition. Boyd underwent several medical procedures to address these serious injuries.

Despite his health challenges, Boyd found the strength to update his followers on social media. He shared that he had been released from the hospital following the incident but had to return due to ongoing health issues. His message was one of gratitude, expressing appreciation for the prayers and support he received. “Please bear with me, I haven’t been in communication much,” he explained, emphasizing the difficulties he faced during recovery. His determination shone through as he concluded with, “Head HIGH. God is not done with me yet!”

Kris Boyd is a seasoned NFL veteran, having played six years in the league. He joined the Jets this season after previous stints with the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, and Houston Texans. His journey has seen considerable ups and downs, but his resolve remains strong as he fights through these health challenges.

The police inquiry continues as they delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. While Boyd’s recovery is the primary focus, the apprehension of a person of interest marks a critical step toward addressing the violence that erupted that night.
