A troubling incident unfolded in Lee County, Florida, involving a 12-year-old illegal alien accused of committing two armed robberies. Authorities responded to calls for help on December 12 after reports of two violent attacks occurred in quick succession.

The first robbery took place around 6:40 p.m. A juvenile victim was walking from Schandler Hall Park when the suspect, identified as Pedro Luis, jumped out from behind some bushes. Holding a knife, he demanded the victim’s shoes. When the victim tried to escape, they felt something hit their back but managed to flee. The assailant vanished before the victim could see him again.

Just six minutes later, another robbery occurred in the same vicinity. A second victim reported that Luis approached on a bicycle, brandishing a knife and threatening to stab them if they did not comply. The suspect made off with a backpack valued at approximately $90, which contained several valuable items. These items included AirPods worth $140, cologne worth $150, a school-issued Dell laptop, and cash along with clothing totaling another $50.

In a bizarre twist, after the robbery, Luis posted on social media while partially covering his face, showing off the stolen backpack. This post was quickly deleted after the crime. Investigators connected the suspect to the robberies, as both victims identified him in a photo lineup.

Law enforcement apprehended Luis at his home and took him to the Lee County Jail for processing. An immigration hold was placed on him, indicating that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had been alerted to his status. This action typically takes place for individuals believed to be unlawfully present in the country or whose legal status is uncertain.

Luis now faces two felony counts of armed robbery. This case raises serious questions about the implications of minors engaging in violent crime and the broader issues surrounding immigration and community safety. As this story unfolds, it will likely draw attention to the challenges local authorities face when dealing with individuals in similar circumstances.
