Donald Trump strikes again!
This time it was in the form of a poll done by McLaughlin & Associates, a Republican-based polling firm, who asked people about Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and several others.
As it turned out, the survey revealed that Donald Trump was more favorable than Kamala Harris, whose unfavorability rating tanked under 50%.
Meanwhile, when asked who people favored for president in 2024 (if they both ran for president) – more people said Trump than Harris, with Donald winning that battle 49 percent to Kamala’s 45 percent, as stated on IJR:
McLaughlin & Associates surveyed a group of 1,000 general election likely voters between May 12 and May 18. There was no margin of error given by the pollster.
Of the voters, 47 percent approved of Harris, while 48 percent had an unfavorable opinion of her. Of those with strong opinions, just 27 percent said that they had “very favorable” opinions about the vice president, while a whopping 38 percent said they felt their opinion toward her was “very unfavorable.”
One thing to consider is that Kamala Harris’ numbers could have been much worse. Rachel Bratton reported that these numbers were tabulated before Vice President Kamala Harris announced she would visit El Paso, Texas. The reason her numbers could have been worse is because El Paso is not precisely near the most horrific areas of the border, and the vice president is being criticized for making a photo-op out of her El Paso trip.
Kamala Harris has been criticized for the last three months for being tapped as border czar and never going to the border – until Friday when she stopped by El Paso for a little bit and didn’t accomplish anything other than to say “see, I went.”
One thing we know is this – Kamala Harris toured a border patrol station instead of going out to the Rio Grande area where undocumented people could be found smuggling children across the border and who knows if it’s even their parents or a human smuggling incident. THAT is where Kamala Harris should have been.
Ted Cruz has been one of Kamala Harris’ biggest critics, constantly calling her out – and rightfully so because he represents Texas. Once Kamala Harris announced her trip to El Paso, Ted Cruz barked at her instantly, suggesting that El Paso is about “800 miles” from the problem areas that border patrol is dealing with.
Despite what Republican Sen. Ted Cruz says about Kamala Harris, people still wanted to know how she plans to solve the border problem Joe Biden tasked her with fixing.
The vice president said it can’t be a political issue, per a report on Reuters:
President Joe Biden, a Democrat, tasked Harris with spearheading his administration’s handling of the broader issue of people fleeing Central American countries for the United States. She visited Guatemala and Mexico earlier this month.
“This issue cannot be reduced to a political issue. We’re talking about children, we’re talking about families, we’re talking about suffering. And our approach has to be thoughtful and effective,” Harris said at the conclusion of her short trip.
However, once Joe Biden became president and his hack associate Kamala Harris took over Mike Pence’s job, some of the first things they did were considered strictly political – like reversing (or replacing) some of Trump’s policies.
One in particular was stopping construction of the border wall, Trump’s solution to mass illegal immigration that could have prevented people from crossing much easier. No solution will be 100% effective, but placing a wall that is difficult to get over or under would certainly provide some relief for the border patrol and hopefully result in less unaccompanied children being smuggled, trafficked, and sent to the border to live in limbo wondering what’s next for their lives.
But Joe and Kamala stopped it, so to many – it IS a political issue. This IS politics.
If your blood isn’t boiling yet, then maybe Ted Cruz can get you there. At the very least, Ted Cruz keeps us entertained by providing some logical call outs against Kamala, things many of us are thinking in unison.
