Governor DeSantis seems to be anticipating the CDC’s absurd flip-flopping on the extent of the COVID-19 threat. Because of this he decided earlier this month to sign an executive order banning school districts from instigating mask mandates.
On Monday, the governor went a step further by releasing a written statement making it abundantly clear, anyone who violates his lawful ban, will have their salaries withheld indefinitely.
The statement from the Governor’s office read in part, the state board of education could, “move to withhold the salary of the district superintendent or school board members, as a narrowly tailored means to address the decision-makers who led to the violation of law.”
The governor’s office said the decision to ban mask mandates is actually designed to protect “parents’ rights.
“Education funding is intended to benefit students first and foremost, not systems. The Governor’s priorities are protecting parents’ rights and ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality education that meets their unique needs,” it read.
However on Sunday the state reported the highest number of children hospitalized thus far with 172 infections according to the data furnished by the Department of Health and Human Services.
The federal data compiled by the CDC, also suggests that Florida has set a new record for the virus with nearly 135,000 new infections, averaging over 19,000 per day, from July 30th to August 6th making the “Sunshine State” the new leader in the country, with 20% of all the new cases.
However those numbers were apparently incorrect according to Florida’s Department of Health, which took to social media to announce the apparent discrepancies, asking the CDC to correct their error.
“Wrong again. The number of cases @CDCgov released for Florida today is incorrect,” it responded to a report in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “They combined MULTIPLE days into one. We anticipate CDC will correct the record.”
The daily case counts for Florida currently posted on the CDC COVID Tracker are incorrect. The current listing states 28,317.

Florida’s health department reported 15,319 cases on Sunday, and a three-day average of 18,795. The CDC did not immediately respond to an after-hours email from Fox News about the issue.
Whether the CDC intentionally or unintentionally inflated the count and reported 28,317 new cases on Sunday, making Florida the most confirmed infections in one day since the beginning of the pandemic is anybody’s guess. Needless to say the mainstream media had a field day accusing DeSantis of putting children’s lives in danger.
“If you listen to some of the stuff that’s being percolated around the CDC, there’s a movement to try to impose more restrictions on the American people,” said DeSantis, speaking at an unrelated press event.
Adding, “And I just want to say in Florida, there will be no lockdowns. There will be no school closures. There will be no restrictions or mandates in the state of Florida.”
DeSantis’ statement (along with his executive order) stands in stark contrast to Biden’s unrestricted attempts at government control, as indicated by White House press secretary Jen Psaki, when asked to respond on DeSantis’ plan to withhold funding from school districts that don’t allow parents to opt their kids out of mask-wearing.

She responded, “I will say as a parent myself of two young children that I want public health officials to make decisions about how to keep my kids safe, not politicians.”
Unfortunately, so called “health officials” like Doctor Fauci and CDC Director Rochelle Walensky have shamelessly squandered the peoples trust. Just look at their constant exaggerations and flip-flopping designed not to insure good health but ONLY for political expediency.
