Dr. Anthony Fauci, the public face of the nation’s Covid response, is coming under increasing fire for his unlawful behavior and funding of unethical biomedical research.
Lawmakers are now lining up to call for the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) chief to resign for lying to Congress about funding risky ‘gain-of-function’ research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
In addition, there are new reports that 24 lawmakers are demanding an investigation into the doctor funding unethical research on beagle puppies to test anti-parasitic medication. The research, conducted in Tunisia, involved caging the puppies with flesh-eating sand flies after their vocal cords were slit so scientists didn’t have to hear their screams.
There have been at least 15 House Republicans who have called on Fauci to resign following reports that the NIH funded controversial animal testing in foreign countries. Tennessee Republican Sen. Bill Hagerty recently ook to Twitter to demand that “he should resign immediately.” On Friday, California Republican Rep. Doug LaMalfa called for Dr. Fauci to resign and be prosecuted for his unlawful actions.
“For the past year and a half, critical decisions for the whole country have hinged off of Dr. Fauci’s advice and decrees. Two presidents have used his advice as the basis for our nation’s response to COVID-19,” Rep. LaMalfa said.
“Yet here we have incontrovertible proof that he has been intentionally lying to Congress,” he added. “Dr. Fauci must resign and should face prosecution for perjury.”
In October, an unearthed grant proposal by EcoHealth Alliance showed that it intended to create a ‘new coronavirus’ at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
“We will compile sequence/RNAseq data from a panel of closely related strains and compare full length genomes, scanning for unique SNPs representing sequencing errors,” the grant application says.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) recently issued a letter that corrected the record regarding several misstatements made by Dr. Fauci and Dr. Francis Collins, who is the retiring NIH director. The public health agency acknowledged it had funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab, even though such research was made illegal under the Trump administration.
The NIH demanded that EcoHealth Alliance, the third-party ‘non-profit’ that funneled the money to the Wuhan lab, come clean about the research that was actually taking place. The NIH’s admission was noted by Rutgers Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology Richard H. Ebright.
“NIH corrects untruthful assertions by NIH Director Collins and NIAID Director Fauci that NIH had not funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan,” Professor Ebright notes. “NIH states that EcoHealth Alliance violated Terms and Conditions of NIH grant AI110964.”
Professor Ebright points out that NIH knew about the documents in 2018 and reviewed them repeatedly.
“The NIH received the relevant documents in 2018 and reviewed the documents in 2020 and again in 2021,” Ebright said. “The NIH–specifically, Collins, Fauci, and Tabak–lied to Congress, lied to the press, and lied to the public. Knowingly. Willfully. Brazenly.”
Rep. Mark Meadows highlighted one exchange between Dr. Fauci and Sen. John Kennedy that shows that the NIAID Director lied to Congress.

Now, the doctor is facing rising public ire after an investigation into research involving puppies being tormented to test anti-parasitic medication. The NIAID, led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, was found to have funded cruel experiments on dogs as young as six months old, according to a letter signed by 24 lawmakers.
“Our investigators show that Fauci’s NIH division shipped part of a $375,800 grant to a lab in Tunisia to drug beagles and lock their heads in mesh cages filled with hungry sand flies so that the insects could eat them alive,” White Coat Waste told Changing America. “They also locked beagles alone in cages in the desert overnight for nine consecutive nights to use them as bait to attract infectious sand flies.”
“White Coat Waste claims that 44 beagle puppies were used in a Tunisia, North Africa, laboratory, and some of the dogs had their vocal cords removed, allegedly so scientists could work without incessant barking,” Changing America learned. “According to the White Coat Waste Project, the Food and Drug Administration does not require drugs to be tested on dogs, so the group is asking why the need for such testing.”
A bi-partisan letter spearheaded by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) was sent to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) objecting that the cordectomies were a ‘cruel’ and a ‘reprehensible misuse of taxpayer funds’.”
“We write with grave concerns about reports of costly, cruel, and unnecessary taxpayer-funded experiments on dogs commissioned by National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases,” the lawmakers wrote.
“The dogs were all between six and eight months old. The commissioned tests involved injecting and force-feeding the puppies an experimental drug for several weeks, before killing and dissecting them,” it continued.
“Of particular concern is the fact that the invoice to NIAID included a line item for ‘cordectomy.’ As you are likely aware, a cordectomy, also known as ‘devocalization,’ involves slitting a dog’s vocal cords in order to prevent them from barking, howling, or crying,” the letter went on.
“This cruel procedure – which is opposed with rare exceptions by the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and others – seems to have been performed so that experimenters would not have to listen to the pained cries of the beagle puppies. This is a reprehensible misuse of taxpayer funds,” the lawmakers said.
In addition to Mace, the following members of the House signed the letter: Cindy Axne (D-IA), Cliff Bentz (R-OR), Steve Cohen (D-TN), Rick Crawford (R-AR), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Scott Franklin (R-FL), Andrew Gabarino (R-NY), Carlos Gimenez (R-FL), Jimmy Gomez (D-CA), Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), Fred Keller (R-PA), Ted Lieu (D-CA), Lisa McClain (R-MI), Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY), Brian Mast (R-FL), Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), Scott Perry (R-PA), Bill Posey (R-FL), Mike Quigley (D-IL), Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA), Maria Salazar (R-FL), Terri Sewell (D-AL) and Daniel Webster (R-FL).
The House members that sent the letter now want Dr. Fauci to explain himself in response to the allegations in the White Coat Waste Project’s report. The research involving torturing puppies is not the only questionable biomedical research funded by Fauci’s agency, beyond the dangerous bat virus research conducted in Wuhan. Fauci has been funding even more ethically questionable research.
Dr. Fauci, who is Biden’s top coronavirus adviser, was revealed to have spent more than $400,000 on experiments in which the scalps of aborted fetuses were grafted onto live mice and rats.
“Full-thickness human fetal skin was processed via removal of excess fat tissues attached to the subcutaneous layer of the skin, then engrafted over the rib cage, where the mouse skin was previously excised,” the researchers wrote.
“Graphic photographs from the study show patches of human skin grafted to rodent bodies and clearly sprouting human hair,” Just the News reported.
“Researchers involved with the study did not respond to queries for comment on the research. The NIAID and Anthony Fauci also did not respond to queries seeking more information about the project’s funding, including how often the NIAID funds projects using aborted fetal remains,” the report added. “Federal records show that the NIAID supplied the project with about $430,000 in funding over 2018 and 2019.”
These reports should be the last straw for a coronavirus adviser who has seized on the pandemic for nearly two years to issue lawless decrees of dubious scientific validity. It is high time to “Fire Fauci,” and barring that, lawmakers need to keep unearthing his immoral actions until the American public ignores the dangerous doctor completely.
