At one time the education profession was respected and considered crucial for the success of children. As members of the local communities, teachers, and administrators would work with the parents to ensure the students received a quality education.
In recent years though, many of those involved in education have veered way to the left and have taken on the role of social justice warriors and COVID enforcers in the name of equity, and as part of the group-think.
In Houston, a mother, and teacher, was charged after authorities allege she placed her 13-year-old son in the trunk of her car in an attempt to isolate him after he had tested positive for COVID-19 and then took him to a drive-thru testing site.
The 41-year-old is charged with endangering a child. Authorities allege her son was found on Monday in her car’s trunk at a testing site for the Cypress-Fairbanks school district in northwest Houston. The woman is a teacher with the district, which said in a statement that the child was not harmed.
The charge was filed Wednesday but not made public until Friday.
The school district’s director of health services, Bevin Gordon, was gathering information from vehicles that were in line for COVID-19 testing at a district stadium on Monday when she discovered that the 13-year-old was in the trunk of a car, according to a court document.
“(The mother) stated that she put (her son) inside the trunk to prevent her from getting exposed to possible COVID while driving (him) to the stadium for additional testing,” according to the court document.
Gordon later called the school district’s police department.
The woman had not yet been arrested or turned herself in, according to authorities.
Court records did not list an attorney for her.

Sarah Beam was charged with endangering a child by the Cypress-Fairbanks Police Department. A warrant has been issued for her arrest, according to NBC 2.
Beam reportedly pulled into a drive-thru COVID testing site in Harris County, Texas, when an officer heard a noise coming from her trunk.
When Beam opened the trunk, her 13-year-old child was found inside.
The mom explained that the had child tested positive for COVID-19 and therefore had to be quarantined, officials said. PM
Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District confirmed that Beam had worked for the school district since 2011. Beam had most recently worked as a Cypress Falls High School teacher. She is now on administrative leave.
“CFPD was alerted that a child was in the trunk of a car at a drive-thru COVID-19 testing site earlier this week. Law enforcement conducted a full investigation, resulting in a warrant for arrest. Thankfully, the child was not harmed,” the district said in a statement, according to NBC 2.
With this and many, many other stories of out-of-control teachers attempting to convert the children into mini-Marxists, it’s crucial the Department of Education is closed, and education is sent back to the local school boards and parents. The teachers must exit the progressive unions or find another line of work.
In the end, children need to be equipped to compete for the jobs of the future, not indoctrinated into the underperforming collective.
